Like diamonds in a velvet box... Mar 13, 2003 This CD is better than the best box of Valentine candy (No, guys; that isn't meant to let you off the hook!) and should be a standard Valentine gift. Pablo delivers the most soulful and elegant love songs on the planet in an irresistable and unique voice that cannot be mistaken for any other. His voice just keeps getting more expressive with each new release."Vuelve junto a mi", which I first heard as a closing-credits theme to a novela, expresses what every woman hopes the man in her life feels for her. That and the other signature songs, such as the title track, "El amor de mis amores," and "Corazon a corazon" (composed by Kiki Santander) are the best examples of the perfect marriage of artist and material. What woman of any cultural origin can resist the combination of great love songs sung in such a heroically romantic voice as Pablo's? (Gentlemen, take note.)

One of the most beautiful collections ever! Jan 11, 2002 Listening to Pablo Montero sing love ballads like "Que Voy a Ser Sin Ti" and "Cuando Ya No Me Quieras" is like listening to the beat of one's own heart. That may have sounded corny, but Montero's rich, velvety voice mixed in with the sound of Mexican boleros and heartfelt lyrics make me melt every time I listen to his music. This is one of the most gifted Mexican vocalists of all time! His talent has no limits. I was able to listen to a few of his songs in the Spanish novella (equivalent to an American soap opera -- only it lasts a few months rather than years and years, and the themes seem to come straight out of a Harlequin romance novel) Abrazame Muy Fuerte (Hold Me Tight) and fell in love with his voice! I just had to get this CD! My personal favorite is the title track. If you are a hopeless romantic like me -- and you love Spanish ballads, whether you understand them or not -- do not hesitate to pick up this great CD from this great artist!

A Naturally Beautiful Heaven Sent Voice Nov 16, 2001 WOW!!! I was driving home from work and tuned into a spanish Pop station and this incredibly beautiful sounding and powerfully equipped [male] vocalist was singing a song, "VUELVE JUNTO A MI", that just blew me away with its purely robust and resonating timbre. What an INCREDIBLY gifted vocalist! I went into a cd store and went straight for Pepe Augilar, though I knew it didn't sound like him, yet this other man's singing equally impacted the listener emotionally with artistic finesse and passion. Next, I looked at PABLO MONTERO'S CD "QUE VOY HACER SIN TI", and there was 'that song' I guessed the title...bought it. All I have to say is THANK YOU, LINDA RONSTADT(!) cos if you'd never recorded those two Mexican Mariachi cds this devoted fan of yours bought, I would have never opened myself up to listening to this gorgeous Mariachi music which is part of my American heritage. PABLO MONTERO is one spectacular singer! He is 'WOW'!!! Pablo just soars elegantly through the "rancheras" tracks on the disc and effortlessly sings with so much passion and 'gusto'...he makes you "feel" every word and phrase his gorgeous vocals interpret. Of all the "new" male Mariachi singers, PABLO MONTERO & PEPE AUGILAR are definitely the finest singers of the entire bunch, and each has his own distinct and identifiable sound and rare stellar approach to singing Mariachi music. Alejandro Fernandez's singing is too melodramatic and stiff at times.

this is a good CD ! Jan 17, 2001 I have a video tape of Pablo singing in a show from '99, and it's lovely to watch, as he's a fine looking man, and a marvelous performer, but it falls short vocally. Well, he's come a long way since then, and though there are moments where his voice sounds a little strained, he's become a singer. The first track is a beautiful vals by Manuel Monterrosas, "Quando no me Quieras", which sets the pace for this well produced and arranged collection of ranchera songs. Other excellent tracks are "El Amor de Mis Amores" where he does some traditional falsetto singing, and a great bolero by Kike Santander, "Corazón a Corazón". The booklet contains easy to read lyrics, and five photos the ladies will love. I'm giving this CD 5 stars for being so surprisingly tasteful and enjoyable, and also for the incredible improvement this young man has achieved...I'm sure there will be a lot more good music coming from him in the future.
