Solid album for getting your game on Oct 18, 2006 This album caught me by surprise. I'm a big fan of Handsome Boy Modeling School, and Dan's other work, and this CD was a step in an unexpected direction, to say the least. It's true that not every track here is golden: some are just boring. But there are a few tracks that make this CD worth buying, and are quickly becoming some of my favorite songs.
First off, Hieroglyphics on Don't Hate The Player is an incredibly infectious track. The lazy, arrogant flow opening up that track will have you hooked.
Lupe Fiasco and Evidence on Catch Me is a good, catchy track. It gets a bit old and immature, but hey, this is all about a game, right? It's meant to be playful, and if you're taking it too seriously, you need to chill out.
Chali 2na on Anchor Man is a freaking great song. If you're a fan of Jurassic 5, this really hits the spot. Chali is at the top of his game, and drives a solid flow while keeping it playful (like the reference to The Great David Hasselhoff).
There are some other worthy songs on this CD. It might not be a legendary record like HBMS or Gorillaz, but for Dan fans it's worth the money and worth listening to.

Just Bad Oct 09, 2006 First and foremost Dan the Automator is an interspectacular producer, with an amazing talent for mixing genres, writing rhymes and dissolving the walls around what we think rap has grown to become (mainstream gangsta rederict) over time. The beats on this cd are not terribly earth shattering considerion Dans's resume including Deltron 3030 and his Handsome Boy Modeling School masterpieces that truly, I think, cause an inclined listener to reshape their understanding of hip hop for the better. I understand that The Automator has deliberately de-intensified the beats for this cd but that alone does not give the featured rappers on this album to completely waste their talent.
I honestly believe most of the songs were written by young teenagers who's paycheck from their work was barely enough to buy a used pair of nikes. I figured that this many top billing rappers together on the same album would be a wonderful compilation but instead, 2K7 presents deplorable rhymes from decent rappers who should literally be ashamed of what they put together.
Again, I understand this is an album for a video game, but that doesnt mean it has to be horrible.

Where's our version with the real vocal tracks? Oct 03, 2006 It's bad enough the songs have to be edited for the video game, there's no reason we couldn't have an "Explicit Lyrics" version of this, which in addition to being a soundtrack could have been a good DtA solo disc. Everything good here is undermined by distracting drops in the vocals. There are still some albums out there that don't earn the "PA" sticker so anything cut up like this should be clearly labelled "CLEAN" even if it's the only version released.

Good album to ball to Sep 26, 2006 It's Automator so the beats are dope. It's got some great kids and some ok kids. Overall, it's a good album to shoot around with.

Buy with caution Sep 20, 2006 I was really looking forward to this CD... I have the 2K6 album, which is really good, and love Automator... I was pumped. Well, since the whole album is edited with bad sound effects, and the rappers make no attempt to keep the lyrics clean, the CD just sucks. I feel totally ripped off. I know there is no Parental Advisory sticker, but there wasn't on 2K6 either, and that CD was fine.
Booooooo.... like a Knicks home game.
