5Love It  Jun 13, 2009
I love this CD. I've always been a Wyclef fan but I especially love this CD. He really mixes it up and gives you a great blend of music. I especially love the Celebrate song with Patti Labelle. There is also one song that was featured in an episode of Third Watch that Wyclef made a cameo appearance it. Definitely a very sexy song!

3This album didnt have a prayer.  Feb 27, 2008
I enjoyed every Wyclef album(even the critically panned The Ecleftic and Masquerade) except this one. The problem is that Wyclef seems distracted and is making his music all over the place like Missy does. Speaking of Missy, let me tell you straight out of the gate, Party To Damascus sucks! The remix is even more pointless. I like Industry. It was a positive single that worked. Baby Daddy feat Redman and Three Nights In Rio feat Carlos Santana are good tracks too. The best songs on this album would have to be Next Generation feat Rah Digga and Scarface and Rebel Music feat Prodigy of Mobb Deep. I Am Your Doctor feat Wayne Wonder and Party By The Sea are okay too. The vast amounts of filler kill this album though. Celebrate feat Patti LaBelle and Cassidy, Who Gave The Order feat Buju Banton and Grateful go absolutely nowhere. Class Reunion feat Monica, Linda feat Carl Restivo and Take Me As I Am feat Sharissa are embarrassingly halfa**ed songs that fall flat. The most painful track of them all is Baby where WYCLEF SINGS THE WHOLE SONG IN FALSETTO!!! The DVD is just footage of Wyclef performing songs like Three Nights In Rio in the studio and it features a 20 minute freestyle that pails in comparison to 80 Bars off of Masquerade. Bottom Line: Preacher's Son is not a terrible album but it's an album that lacked direction. Anytime you use Missy-type of formulas to make an album, you will get a Missy-type of results. But then again, if Missy showed up on your first single, it would be a cause of concern for any fan of your previous works. Wyclef is a great artist but he needs to stick to what made his fans love him in the first place and stop trying to be accepted by a Missy Elliot fanbase. Standouts: INDUSTRY, BABY DADDY, THREE NIGHTS IN RIO, I AM YOUR DOCTOR, NEXT GENERATION AND REBEL MUSIC.

3Rebel music background is from GREAT AR RAHMAN OF INDIA  Apr 04, 2005
All the tracks are fine.... I am a very keen listener and listen to variety of songs and i can tell you one thing for sure.Listen to Rebel Music and then listen the legendary Rahman's "Kya Dekh Rahe Ho tum"..from the Hindi movie "Taal" ... Music of this movie was the key behind Andrew Lloyd Webber signing AR Rahman for musical "Bombay Dreams". Clearly samples of Rahman have been used when in background a woman sort of humm's. If u buy this then buy Taal also just to do justice to the great

5GOD OF MUSIV  Dec 13, 2004
I had already heard about Wyclef Jean. But the first time, his music really reach me was when I was working at the music caranal at Quebec. I was working there, and I miss his show!! And the critics were soooo goood. So I had to buy his album.. I hadn't heard one song yet... And the first time I putted on...I couldn't beleive how It was good. Starting with:

Industry : talks about the all those rappers
Party to dasmacus : A great party song!!!
celebrate : younghood momories...great song
baby daddy : this one touch me right inside...he's taalking about step-fathers and their hard times
three nights in rio- A great dance song--great beat
class reunion--- this song is so cute!

And all the rest...are so much better from I'm your doctor, to take me as i am to party to dasmascus remix ( which he talks in french in it )

You need to buy this!
