Description:

2009 digipak edition. Best known as part of the legendary Dip-Set clique, once one of the most formidable groups in Hip Hop; or for his ubiquitous anthem 'Ballin''; Jim Jones will surprise both fans and critics with Pray IV Reign. The album is a musical journey through Jim's life; his childhood in the streets of Harlem and his triumphs and close calls as a young hustler, his fears and hopes when becoming a new father, and his swagger and confidence as a trendsetter and influencer. Music from the album has already been debuted to critics and fans through the off-Broadway production Hip Hop Monologues.

44.25 Stars! F*** THE HATERS!  Jun 16, 2009
I'm not really surprised to see so much hate for Jimmy as people like to gang up on certain rappers for no other reason than they think it is cool in their circle. Jim Jones has never been the best on the mic, but he has keep it real on the mic which is very underappreciated in the game. On his latest he brought some really smooth, commercial production and stepped up his game on the mic. Every song is genuine Jimmy and he has some dope hooks and heartfelt jams. The production is nice and overall this is Jimmy's best CD.

4Pretty good 5th solo album from Jim Jones  May 22, 2009
Jim Jones returns with his 5th solo album, and maybe his best and most balance work to date. I have 4 of his albums (I don't own "Harlem's American Gangster") and 2 I'd give 4 stars (this one and his "Hustler's P.O.M.E.") and I'd give his first 2 albums 3.5 stars. Not the best lyricist, he has a style different from most but he does a good job with it. Of the 16 song on here, 1 is a classic, 1 I skip, 3 are ok, the other 11 are good. Guests are real heavy and are on every song but 2, a lot have his Byrd Gang counterparts, including the eerily similar in voice and style to Jay-Z, Noe. Production is prety good as well. Chink Santana and Ron Browz ech do 3 songs, No ID, Track Slayerz, Ryan Leslie, Magnedo 7, Young Yonny, Tripe A, Dangerous LLC, Illfonics and Young Seff all do 1 song. For fans of Jim or the DipSet I'd say pick up this album.

#1 - 8(f/ Starr)
#2 - 8 (f/ Chink Santana)
#3 - 8
#4 - 8 (f/ Ludacris & Noe)
#5 - 8 (f/ Noe & Chink Santana)
#6 - 10 (CLASSIC -- tight beat)
#7 - 8.5 (f/ Ryan Leslie - song for the ladies -- nice beat)
#8 - 8.5 (f/ Oshy -- upbeat track for the ladies)
#9 - 7.5 (f/ Oshy -- another track for the ladies)
#10 - 6.5 (f/ Oshy & Juelz Santana)
#11 - 8.5 (f/ Starr)
#12 - 7 (f/ Rawanna)
#13 - 9 (f/ Mel Matrix & Noe -- tight beat)
#14 - 5 (f/ Juelz Santana & Ron Browz)
#15 - 8.5 (f/ Rell, Noe, Starr)
#16 - 8 (f/ Brittney Taylor who provides an annoying chjorus)

1Pray For a New CD  May 22, 2009
HORRIBLE....Please do not waste your time or money getting this CD.. I must say I am very disappointed with Jim Jones on this one.. I was expecting another classic like his P.O.E.M.. I was very disappointed.. This one was for the money..... Still love Jim Jones, but this CD was both a waste of time and money, which I have little of... Jim go back to th studio and put your heart into it.....

1Oh I been praying alright!!!!  May 20, 2009
I have been praying and praying that this dude would quit. But he keeps releasing more and more commercial BS. I thought eminem's release was bad but this one takes the cake. Really really weak lyrics, garbage beats and weak guest appearances. The only ounce of light in the album is ryan leslie and ludacris appearing on the album. Other than that, this album is a complete flop. I would rate it lower if i could. Don't waste your money!!!

1He Just Keeps Getting Worse.....  May 18, 2009
Has he ever made a good album? answer: no. Has he spit a good verse, ever? answer: yes. Song: The Game featuring Jim Jones-Certified Gangstas. I thought he had potential. I was wrong. After that he was bad, bad, worse, now he's terrible. Almost the worst i've heard. I have to give it one star for its beats though. First he's on his own, then with Dipset, then dissing one of the best in the game (Jay-Z), this guy is retarded, and he cant put out a good album even with Dipset's best members (and best in this context is lower than normal). He's one of the worst rappers i've ever heard, period. Im just saying, how do you have flashbacks from ballin lastnight? Doesnt even make sense. And did the description of this album say that Dipset is one of the most "legendary" groups of hip hop? what? You got Jim Jones who is a punk wannabe gangster rapper and cant choose between prep or thug, Juelz is a punchline-based rapper with lil Wayne's *beep* in his mouth, JR Writer sounds just like Hell Rell, who sounds just like Camron, who stopped making good music ten years ago. What about Boogie Down Productions? 2 Live Crew? Wu Tang Clan? Public Enemy? Leaders of the New School? Dipset is rap's WORST group EVER. No more talk about this group contributing anything to the genre of rap/hip hop besides polluting the industry with even more mindless, unoriginal, redundant noise that makes the Black Eyed Peas look like Jurassic 5.
