Another rip-off Sep 19, 2009 This CD was suppose to be the Great Playlist of the Epic Years and the NEW Eco-Friendly cardboard package, and all I see is a re-issue of 2004 CD called "The Essential Allman Brothers Band / The Epic Years. So why pay for a new Cd or as they want you to believe, a great NEW PLAYLIST that anyone would be proud to own and YES a true ABB fan would already have this in there collection about five years ago. So why are they pushing these NEW playlist when the ALLMAN BROTHERS has so much new material out there now, we need something new from them. Or are the producers just trying to get more of our cash for something that is already out in print? Who is to blame....ABB or the money hungry producers or who? This CD is just not worth paying cash for the same stuff...five years OLD and five years ago

This is no way, The Best Of The Allman Brothers Band Jul 27, 2009 Ok, I'm checking this out, I'm an Allman Brothers band before alot of this mediocre came around. There are plenty of Allmans, Best Of CDs around, but this ain't one of them. Just somebody trying to make money, and using alternate versions, That wasn't the classic Blue Sky with Dickey and Duane. Since they kicked Dickey out of the band, they should not be claiming his material for their own.
This is a quickly put together list of more recent songs without Betts and Duane, 2 of the best guitarists in rock history, Dickey still is.
Before you pick up a best of, check what's on it, There are a few on this site much better than this.

"The Best of the Allman Brothers" Jul 13, 2009 I don't know who put this "playlist" together, but whoever it is is neither a fan of the band nor someone who ever went to one of their concerts. If he actually did go to a concert he was too stoned or too busy schmoozing to remember what they played. Anything that claims to be the best of the Allmans and doesn't have "One Way Out", "Whippin Post", Statesboro Blues", "Trouble No More", "Revival" or "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" is hoping it will be bought on the strength of the title by people who don't know what they're looking for. If you're looking for a good pulling together of memorable Allman songs, this ain't it.
