Description:

"Filled with angry rock and roll hooks and the occasional power ballad, the Texas group DANGEROUS TOYS recorded Pissed just as Grunge was taking hold in the states, leaving this album sorely over-looked. This album has all the hooks needed to push the band over the top - unfortunately five years too late! Standout tracks include "Pissed", "Promise The Moon" and "Screaming For More".

This product is manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

4I'de Be Pissed Too  Oct 01, 2009
This was the last great DT album, and even today I still can't believe no one really took these guys seriously...or even seem to acknowlege they even existed.

Simply put, you would have to like to have a good time and not be embarassed to rock out, enjoy anthems, solo's, and some sleaze along with some thinly layered social commentary that doesn't go overboard to enjoy DT, it was gritty and very southern influenced hard rock that stood the test of time over all those late 80's hair bands that were too little too late, it must have been really stale for so many great bands like this to be overlooked at the time.

Pissed because of being dissed by the masses on the Paintrain of today's hard rock. The Law is mine and there's no School for me, I'm a Loser who was Promised the Moon. Ain't it strange how these guys got overlooked, they are the Hard Luck Champions of rock and roll...Oh, Well, so What. They always leave me Screamin For More of the Illustrated Man.

4Anger Rising  May 25, 2009
2 gold records. A handful of successful singles. Solid tours. A bright future. Things looked good for the boys that made up the toys. And then there was...Nirvana! And tons of good, solid hard-rock bands were flushed down the toilet overnight while record company morons tried to move onto the next big thing. The 'Toys were dropped. No longer big record company hot-shots. And they were quite pissed! And this record feels angry. As it should.

With a big, middle finger & a clenched fist raised to the sky, D. Toys dusted themselves off, signed with indie label dos/DMZ Records & put together a solid third record. Still not as good as their first. But without the bad mistakes of "Hellacious Acres." "Pissed" also did not jump on any trends. They unleashed another 10 tracks of dirty, blues-based hard rock that they were very good at. "Pissed," "Loser," "Hard Luck Champion" & "Oh Well, So What" really sum up the mood of the record and are solid songs to boot. Danny Aaron was replaced by Paul Lidel, from Dirty Looks, while the rest of the band stayed intact. Including Mr. "Pastor" McMaster on the mic. D. Toys fans will be pleased with this release & fortunate that in '94 there were still a few record companies & bands putting out classic hard-rock records. And D. Toys have been, were & continue to be one of the best bands around.

5Great CD  Sep 25, 2008
I remember these guys from way back. I recently rediscovered them and decided to buy this CD. I love it. It's good, solid heavy metal/hard rock.

5Pissed alright  Mar 15, 2004
When Dangerous Toys returned 3 years after Hellacious Acres, they were hungry to prove a few points.
This is a basic rock'n roll album with brilliant songs and no BS. The songs are very strong here. No danger of fillers.
1. Pissed - The title track is a very good hard rock song great riff, lyrics and chorus. A winner.
2. Paintrain - Slighly groovier. I love this song. Maybe me favourite.
3. The Law Is Mine - Very catchy, a bit poppy but very cool indeed.
4. Promise The Moon - DT always had good slow songs. This ballad is no exception. No typical soppy hair band ballad here.
5. Strange - A very cool track. Intense and crazy. Strange.
6. Loser - My kind of song. Rock 'n Roll with a great hook. Cool lyrics too.
7. Hard Luck Champion - Another winner.
8. Screamin' For More - This is the best one. Everything about this song is quality. Laid back rocker.
9. Oh Well So What - DT being a bit punkish, great lyrics.
10. Illustrated Man - This is another amazing song. The songwriting is great.

Another winner from Dangerous Toys.

5This is a great, sadly overlooked album  Apr 03, 2003
I haven't heard the re-master of this album, but the original release had some great sounding guitars and bass. And it's as good as the first Dangerous Toys disc, in my opinion....80's style rock was still surviving in 1994. Do you remember?
