4Of Oz  Oct 03, 2009
This is the last Ozzy CD I purchased besides Live at Budokan, it seems to be one of my favs ranking somewhere in the middle to back though of his catalog. Nothing here compares to his early stuff on Blizzard or Diary, but overall a nice group of catchy hard rock songs, more mellow it seems and I have so many favs here that grab me.

My fav song on here is probably "Ghost Behind My Eyes", and also I love "Old L.A. Tonight", and of course "See You On The Other Side".
It does rock out quite well on a song like "Thunder Underground" but it's more of a sludgy number rather than a guitar shredder. "Tomorrow" also falls similar in that category, a heavy song once it kicks in, but still manages to be a slow burn rather than rave up rocker. It does have quite the guitar solo in it though which I always appreciate in the days of "solo's aren't cool". "Perry Mason" was the single heard on the radio quite often back then, seems how funny you can tire of a single and not include it in favs...it's an okay song (in moderation). "I just Want You" is pretty decent and I like "Aimee" also. Perhaps it's good to hear at least this version of Ozzy and him not trying to sound all 'nu metal' at this point, so i'll take a toned down sound over the alternative anyday.

5CLASSIC OZZY!  Aug 07, 2008
I put this right up there with Diary of Madman as classic Ozzy. Kicks off with three straight incredible tracks and never really falls off. I like the sound of the album and the themes. As Ozzy said, he was trying to get away from all that "devils and fangs #*#*!" I just think Zakk and Ozzy really came up with a classic here.

5Ozzys Sgt Pepper Album  Jun 16, 2008
This is Ozzy at his absolute peak. There isnt a single weak track here. Theres so many memories attached to this album for me.

My Favorites (its hard to pick only a few...):

1. Perry Mason: I remember when I first heared this one. It blew me off. One of my personal favourites of all Ozzys songs. Amazing guitar work by Zakk.

2. See you on the other side: I lost my little sister the same year as this album came out...this song made it a bit easier...just listen to the lyrics.

3. Old LA Tonight: In my opinion Ozzys best ballad. Just amazing !

4. Thunder Underground: heavy, groovy, dark, but yet melodic. A classic Ozzy tune.

5. I just want you: Cool lyrics. Nuf said.

Dont miss this one out. A must buy for for every Heavy Metal fan and musician out there. You gotta hear this one. Ozzy Rules !!!!

3Sadly, Ozzy's Worst (2.5 stars)  Feb 03, 2008
Ozzy Osbourne's third effort with Zakk Wylde on the strings, and it's clear they're trying to go in a different direction. After Zakk restored Ozzy's "solo" efforts to some metal credibility, Ozzy relies more on the type of songs that were successful on 1991's No More Tears ("Mama I'm Coming Home and "Time After Time," most notably). While I've always thought Ozzy's tinny vocals made for an interesting metal ballad, he seems to lean on those ballad's like a crutch, on this album, and he does so to a fault. The songs are good (mostly..."See You on the Other Side" and "My Little Man" both seem fairly unnecessary), but there just isn't enough variety from that type of track. Granted, Zakk's shredding picks up some tracks that would be otherwise forgotten ("Tomorrow"), but this just seems to come up wanting. If used in between other, harder tracks, most of these would make good additions to an album...they just shouldn't have been an album, by themselves. "My Jekyll Doesn't Hide" adds some metal cred near the end of the album, and "Old L.A. Tonight" is a lovely metal ballad that is an album highlight and deserves better company than the other tracks found here.

On another note:

DO NOT BUY THE 2002 OZZY REMASTERS of his first two albums (Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman)! They are NOT the originals, and have been rerecorded by newer members of Ozzy's band, as a way to screw over the old members who are owed $$$ for the work they did. Seek out the 1995 remasters, instead. Reward the musicians who actually made the music!

4Great !  Jan 30, 2008
Another fantastic rock cd from Ozzy with amazing bass-drum rythm section and of course incredible guitars. Ozzy's voice is still unforgettable.
I Just love this cd, it rocks deep ! The sound is also incredible.
