3One by One  Dec 18, 2009
One by One being FF's 4th studio album and their 2002 release is a very ordinary rock album with hints of alternative rock sound to it. The sound is quite generic and for an alternative rock album to be alternative it has to be different in some ways. The booklet has no lyrics, a few blurred photographs and pictures of hearts that make no sense at all. Allmusic gave this album 3/5 in their review and I agree with them. 3/5.

5Definitely The One  Nov 25, 2009
By talking to music lovers I realized most people don't know this album at all. They've basically seen and heard video clips of the singles ("Times Like These" and "All My Life"). While listening to the whole album, I thought that every single song could easily have been a single! They're all anthemic and ûber-pop. Personaly, I'd say "Have It All" is one of their greatest songs ever. So, much like "OK Computer", people should listen to this album as a whole.

4Starts out strong....  Sep 13, 2008
I have owned this album since it came out, and after two subsequent releases, I would say One by One still has the hardest and darkest songs you can find by the Foos. And if you followed the Foo Fighters each step like I have, it's one of those albums that you buy and are slightly disappointed at first because the last one was so thoroughly great (There is Nothing Left to Lose is still my favorite). Quite frankly, as an album it is uneven. The first four songs, All My Life, Low, Have It All, and Times Like These are so hard hitting and fast tempo-ed that the rest of the album feels slow. But those four songs are greatest hits material, and will be staples for Foo Fighters concerts for as long as the band plays. As for the rest of the album, the songs aren't terribly exciting or memorable. One definitely learns to appreciate them more over time.

4why is this the worst foo cd??????!?!?  Jul 01, 2008
yes, this effort from foo fighters was a bit laid back, maybe not as great as their last 3 cd's but this is the Cd that started Foo with their more poppy even more hooky songs, this was the precursor to In Your Honor which IMO is AWESOME! but so is this CD, its very listenable at all times. i think its great.

4Least intriguing of all Foo material.  Jun 08, 2008
Coming from a Foo fan tried and true, this would have to be my least favorite (including newest Echoes). It's the one I look back on and hear the least amount of memorable material. However, there are a lot of sweet b-sides to this album that should have actually taken place of half of the songs on here. So def. get a chance to check them out, or try to buy their MP3s.
