The Very First Live L&M album May 06, 2008 Recorded at Carnegie Hall and other concert venues, this certainy brought a lot of memories to a lot of people. Most of the songs are from the first two L&M albums (would be cool to hear their version of the Grateful Dead's Friend of the Devil that made the group make it "smooth"-
how about that for the next Yacht Rock internet episode?
Kenny Loggins sings the first few tracks and then introduces Messina. Of course a lot of material is missing, no "Watching the River Run", "My
Music", "A Love Song" or "Thinking of You". Get this but avoid the 1977
Finale It is a little too overblown and the liner notes are in Japanese (on the imported version, but it is aimed at a
SSW (Singer Songwriter) and adult contemporary audience. I never got the chance to see them of course...

Great Live CD From Loggins & Messina Apr 19, 2008 ON STAGE is a great live CD from the 70s duo of Kenny Loggins & Jim Messina, and it shows what a great live act they were in the 70s, with Messina playing great lead guitar and reed players Jon Clarke and Al Garth just blowing like it was nobody's business. Taken together, the extended versions of "Angry Eyes" (10:06) and "Vahevala" (21:00) were long enough to provide my soundtrack for an entire workout, and that's only two songs out of a two-CD/one-tape set! Overall, this album proves that Loggins & Messina were like a California version of the BROTHERS AND SISTERS-era Allman Brothers Band, with the two aforementioned songs being L&M's versions of "Jessica" and "Nobody But You" being their "Ramblin' Man" or "Southbound." Loggins & Messina's opposition to Indonesia's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist makes this set an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.
Better on plastic than it was on vinyl Sep 11, 2007 Still one of the best albums of all time. Finally had to replace the LP with a cd and was very happy to have found it here.

Loggins & Messina On Stage Jan 05, 2007 Brings back many memories. I was fortunate enough to see the duo play in concert many, many years ago and this recording is like the memory. Much of the music is rather soft, but they rock the house with Angry Eyes, Vahevala, and stir up warm fuzzies with the trilogy: Lovin' Me/To Make a Woman Feel Wanted/Peace of Mind. This album rated a 5 stars primarily due to it's memory provoking music. The CD recording is great and allows for the feeling of being at the concert. By the way, they were recently on tour together and did a wonderful show. Therefore, we had to purchase the CD cause my album is too delicate to play.
