A set rarely met Jul 07, 2009 4 1/2
This sanctioned and sacred live release should continue to gain significance as the years roll on- its precise attack into the heart of modern American rock is that good. MMJ have fleshed out such a ruggedly compelling warmth in their live sound, even their lesser material here unfurls with pinpoint equal parts intimacy and ecstasy. I'm glad they recorded it before the new album was made.
Hard To Beat ~~~Top Shelf ~~~ Live Performance Mar 07, 2009 Based on no other review or any previous record... Okonokos is awesome!
It's easily one of the best live albums ever... After that I did listen to the records and I would rather hear this live show than most all of their studio work...
It IS a great place to start and discover MMJ
Highly Recommended!
Okonokos Nov 24, 2008 The CD is an absolutely necessary buy for any my morning jacket fan. It gives you an insight into just how amazing this band is in concert. I personally have seen them once in person and they are even better in concert than they are on recordings.
This band is much better live than in studio Oct 02, 2008 I didn't consider myself much of a my morning jacket fan but this 2-disc live album is great. The vocals are a bit nasal at times but when he really sings out sounds much better. I didn't expect the number of well-crafted guitar solos either but it was a welcome surprise.
If you like MMJ, you'll like this live album Apr 12, 2008 I recently became a MMJ fan. I actually purchased this album on accident as I didn't realize that it was live until after I bought it. I like the rest of their albums so much that I was just hungry for another one. While I was disappointed at first, the more I listen to this album the more I like it. Because of it I am definitely making plans to see them live.
Bill Murray is at his wry, wisecracking best in this riotous romantic comedy about a weatherman caught in a personal time warp on the worst day of his life. Teamed with a relentlessly cheerful producer (Andie MacDowell) and a smart-aleck cameraman (C ...
