Stellar CD but - Buyer Beware! May 03, 2008 No I have not yet seen Jeff Beck perform live, but with this CD at least I feel as if I have heard him play live. His bandmates, all giants in their own pools, are spectacular! I highly recommend this superb recording but caution the buyer as to where you purchase it. I obtained mine through Jeff Beck's website. It took what seemed forever to reach me in the mail, but the price was worth it. Jeff Beck rocks the friggin house down on this disc! Beck is truely one of the last great guitar players living today! Long live Jeff Beck! - Ciao

better to support the artist but Japanese CD's are better Mar 21, 2008 Take your pick. Japanese CD's are more expensive because... they come from Japan!... and they're also higher quality, better mastered and better manufactured. So this isn't necessarily a bad deal. It's a different deal.
On the other hand it's always better to support the artist directly by buying direct from them if you can (artists don't see much or any of the proceeds from the record co.).
If you pay more than what Jeff's selling it for make sure you get the real Japanese one!

jeff has never been better Nov 16, 2007 what i like best about jeff beck is he never plays the the same song the same way , he is always making it new again . after 40 years jeff beck is still making new and interesting and exciting music . eric clapton and jimmy page have not rocked in decades , but jeff is still breaking new ground . while keeping that distinctive jeff beck sound ,keep on rocking .

The Master at his best Nov 07, 2007 Jeff Beck has been an Icon since his stint with the Yardbirds. For some reason Beck has chosen to keep a low profile.
Jeff Beck in many ways is like Jimi Hendrix, shy off stage but a monster when he gets onstage.
This CD shows Beck live and shows why he is the finest living guitarist in the world.
Many have copied his style over the years. Beck like Clapton and Hendrix is an original and not a copy. These three guitarists wrote the book.
He does Bolero from his early years, and a personal favorite of mine Cause we ended as lovers.
Big Block, Nadia, Led Boots and Bluewind also appear on here. Due to the fact that Beck does not have a studio to clean up the recordings, the sound is very raw. In my mind it adds to the performance.
When I listen to an artist live, I want to hear what they actually sound like live. Beck is a master and his guitar will not disappoint you, I promise.
The show stopper, Somewhere over the Rainbow ends the performance.
One thing of note here is the way he uses a slide. Slides are traditionally used for Delta Blues songs. Beck uses slides for effect.
As I said earlier, he is an original and a living legand..Enjoy
