2overrated  Oct 21, 2009
I usually like this genre of music, but there is just so much better stuff out there. A few of the songs on here, like "Karma Police", "No Surprises" and "Exit Music for a Film" are OK, but I find Thom Yorke's singing voice to be really irritating. The lyrics are for the most part flat and obscure, and I don't find any "deeper meaning" behind them. The actual instrumental parts of the songs aren't bad, and I do like the experimentation with different sounds, but it often fails epically, like in "Fitter, Happier".

I had the CD, but in Vinyl you can really get into the music. 180 GRAM, great press!

1Im glad I dont "get it"  Oct 17, 2009
WOW. This has to be the most boring album Ive ever listened to. I remember back in high school seeing kids wearing radiohead t-shirts and hearing all the art students go on about "radiohead, radiohead, radiohead." Ive tried over the years to get into their music time and time again, always to fail.

First off, you cant even understand what the hell the singer is talking about. I can only imagine hes singing something to the tune of "no one understands me, I hate life, I cant relate to anyone, blah blah blah". Ive noticed over the years that the kind of people who listen to this music are usually depressed and pessimistic. And yes I realize the irony that my review is pessimistic, but I just had to get it off my chest how bad this album is. Just listening to this album makes me feel depressed and makes me want to kill myself.

You want groundbreaking and innovative? Pick up Neutral Milk Hotel's "Aeroplane over the sea". Now theyres an innovative and different album that actually puts you into a good mood.

I gave the album one star because it does have some merit. I guess I could play it for when Im going to sleep, because thats exactly what it does.

5Defintely one of the best.  Oct 05, 2009
I didn't know much about Radiohead. I had heard great things about them but never heard anything they had released. But I sought out the videos, listened to the samples on Amazon and finally decided to take the plunge. I've heard all of their CDs now and I do believe this is my favorite. Not only that, but this is one of the greatest CDs of all time.

Every song is has something to marvel at. It's different that it doesn't sound like they're repeating themselves but similar enough to make for a full album, one that can be enjoyed song by song or for the entire album. It's good.

My favorites include the first, Airbag, Let Down, Electioneering, Climbing Up the Walls, No Surprises and The Tourist but they're all great. It's quite an achievement. Slower and more melodic than most music, but still enough rock to keep even the hardest of individuals amused.

Other songs I like include Paranoid Android, Exit Music (For A Film), Karma Police, Fitter Happier (the computer voice gives the album the perfect midpoint), and Lucky. My least favorite (the only one I haven't mentioned): Subterranean Homesick Alien.

Must Buy.
