ON MY WAY TO AN AWESOME WARDROBE! Sep 26, 2009 This book was classic information, dissected into obtainable steps- and very worth reviewing! I have had this book for a few years, and I reference it EVERY year for my annual "spring cleaning" out of my closet. I've always had lots of "stuff" hanging in my closet, but never been the type that felt like I was good at putting looks together. I am a firm believer: If you look good, you feel good. This book really helped me breakdown my closet and rid myself of all the bulk that was keeping me from clearly being able to see what I owned and feel good about my closet's contents. IF YOU ARE A PACK-RAT, and have a hard time ridding yourself of clothes that you KNOW you don't really wear...this is a must read. Do you Love it? Is it Flattering? Does it project the image you want to portray? This book has changed the way I shop and the way I approach my wardrobe. MUST READ, Great buy!

More about how to rebuild your wardrobe than what to wear Feb 25, 2009 I actually enjoyed this book. It's definitely more about how to purge and reload your closet than about what kinds of things to wear. Very few pictures and a lot of text. It will tell you why you aren't wearing a lot of the stuff that is already in your closet and how to rid and replace. The motto is "less things you love" than a bunch of items you don't wear.
If you're looking for a dress for your body type book, this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for a book that will tell you why you have a closet full of clothes, but can't put together a decent outfit, try this book.
Help for a total style newbie Feb 21, 2009 I have never had a sense of style; my wardrobe consists mainly of jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. I own one pair of black heels and one black cocktail dress that I wear every year to the company Christmas party. After losing 55 pounds, I needed some new clothes so I went out and bought smaller jeans and t-shirts.
I bought this book for 2 reasons. To help me find some sense of style so that at 50 I look "put together" instead of on my way to class (my purse even resembles a backpack) and to help me let go of the "skinny" clothes that I had saved hoping that I would be able to fit in them again some day. As far as style goes, I guess I'm hopeless. I took their style test and flunked ("When you flip through the pages of a fashion magazine, what is most likely to catch your eye?"...umm I don't think I've ever seen a fashion magazine; can you give me an example?) Anyway, it went downhill from there. As for helping me to "let go" of all those clothes I saved; the book was much more helpful. I was finally able to see that filling my closet with clothes that I will NEVER wear again is stupid. All I'm doing is feeding the moths! And besides, if I ever do find my style I'm going to need room in my closet for some new clothes.
I wish I could find something better; maybe "Style for Dummies".
Basic with one bonus Nov 25, 2008 This is a useful book on the basics of wardrobe creation, maintenance, and rotation, with one bonus idea that I found useful: picking a personality trait to describe your style, and using that to check out potential purchases as well as evaluate what you already own. Are you whimsical? Avant-garde? or Classic? There are five (the other two are Chic and Bohemian) and the definitions and descriptions for each, plus ideas for when you're partly one and partly another, were helpful and somewhat new to me.

This Book Completely Changed my Life Dec 01, 2007 Before reading Nothing to Wear, I considered myself completely useless when it came to putting an outfit together. I always looked disheveled, no matter how much time and effort I put into my clothes. After reading this book, I was able to look through my closet and identify what to keep and what to get rid of, get a capsule wardrobe together (as suggested) and completely revamp my look.
As a result, people at work and in my personal life began to take notice and listen to me more seriously. I highly recommend this read to anyone who may be remotely unsatisfied with their sense of style or who may be walking out the door feeling unconfident in the morning. I was truly inspired by the enthusiasm and easy to follow steps to achieve a consistant, well put together, chick look.
