5Most bands are NOT this good...  Aug 11, 2010
I wont say much here other than this band is outstanding. There are so many layers & such purely awesome musicianship on this album that I almost can't stand it. Such a well rounded band!!! The other reviewer makes a good point. At first, you think...hmmm this is pretty good. Then, after you've listened to the songs a few more times, you begin to see the sheer brilliance. If you've never heard them before, all I can say is they're The Beach Boys meets Pink Floyd meets Phoenix meets...well, you know what, the more I think about it, the more they sound like almost ANY great band in one way or another. I wont go into each song or vocal or whatever, the music will speak for itself and I couldn't do it justice. Play the samples & if you even remotely like what you hear, buy it, steal it, burn it, whatever you have to do to get it. For every music lover's sake, we should all have this in our collection & respect it for the work of art it truly is.

5There is only one Mew!  Apr 27, 2010
The beauty is, this band truly defies categorization, moreso with every release. I, like others, was a bit stymied when I first listened to this CD. I couldn't grab on. But I knew there was something there, and it is Mew after all. Sure enough, the
beauty and brilliance here soon became apparent, and now I think it's probably their best so far. Mew continue to evolve, challenging themselves and their audience. ( I've also had the good fortune to see them live, and they blew me away.)
This is "pop" music of a very rarified kind, and the attentive listener will be amply rewarded. I also get a kick out of the fact that the lyrics are often indecipherable, but when you read them, they are quite bizarre, often nonsensical. Intentional?
Who knows... anyway, a GREAT ROCK ALBUM FROM A TRULY UNIQUE BAND.

5MEW......dissapointment turned obsession.  Mar 28, 2010
So I bought this album right when it came out and was extremely dissapointed. I thought it lacked the unity of And The Glass Handed Kites and the driving beats that I love about MEW. It didn't help that I bought Phoenix's latest album at the same time either and already had something awesome to listen to. I couldn't get a couple of the songs out of my head though and kept coming back for more and eventually realized that No More Stories Are Told Today.....stayed in my CD player for the majority of the time. MEW has simply grown, moved on, and produced a CD even better than the previous stuff.....something I can feel even more than before. I can't believe I passed "Introducing Palace Players" 50 times before I gave it a chance. Never again will I fast forward a track because I don't get the beginning. This song is one of my favorites of all time now. Besides that though, this entire CD is awesome, just give it a chance with an open mind.

5nervous  Feb 18, 2010
If you love Mew, you'll love this album. Also, the vinyl has an extra track, "Nervous", which is "New Terrain" backwards! So get the vinyl!

4Your Patience Will Pay Off...  Jan 17, 2010
As every Mew album, it requires some patience. (Just the album title should give you some indication of that.) It is well worth the patience. These crazy danes still use more obscure chords and time-signatures than most artists are even aware exist, and yet somehow, you still walk away with the choruses stuck in your head. It still feels "poppy" in one sense, like they are writing pop songs for radio in an alternate dimension. Can't say I'd mind living there. (track to sample: "Hawaii")
