 wave that crushed the original fanbase Nov 17, 2009
First I would like to point out that I've liked Against Me! alot for a while now. Reinventing Axl Rose and As the Eternal Cowboy were great albums with memorable songs. Searching For a Former Clarity was also a great album. When I first heard that this album was coming out, I was hoping that the title was merely just a joke that the band was pulling on the fans... but it wasn't.
Before I even got to listen to it, everybody on the block was blasting Thrash Unreal from their bedroom windows, spouting out how much they love the band. When asked if they've heard their old stuff, they have no idea what you're talking about. The album doesn't have it's old, fed up, frustrated and angry passion in it like the previous ones. To simply put it, I did not like this album at all.
The low rating isn't for the band, just the album. I still like Against Me! alot, so hopefully they won't take the road to a franchise instead and go back to their roots that brought them the diehard fans they still have.
If you're new to Against Me!, start with Reinventing Axl Rose or As the Eternal Cowboy. Americans Abroad!!! Live in London is a great live album and one of my favorites. To all the original fans, don't brush them off yet. Every band makes mistakes. Let's just hope they learn from this one.

I don't get it, I thought this album was very good. I guess some of their older fans are pissed because they sold some records or because they went a little less punk rock. The songs are well written. Simple yet very melodic and catchy. I thought it was one of the better records of the year. One thing I don't like about the band is how they supported Obama like he was some sort of saint. I knew before he got elected that he was a big government globalist who would side with the bankers, wall street, and the lobbyists every chance he got. Boy was I right.

Good product; good band Jan 12, 2009
The product itself is in fantastic condition. It came with a swanky CD, as well. Big bonus for myself. The record was also green; being my first record, it was a nice surprise. Against Me! Sounds even better on vinyl.

THIS "COMPACT DISC" IS PROBABLY ONE OF THEE !BEST! CDS IVE EVER BOUGHT! "STOP", "NEW WAVE", AND "THRASH UNREAL" ARE THE BEST SONGS ON THE ALBUM!!!!!1 THE CD IS GREAT IN THE FIRST HALF THEN, IT GETS A little BIT DIFFERENT BUT IT IS AN AMAZING AALBUMM I FIRST HEARD "THRASH UNREAL" ON THE RADIO AND IT IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE BY THEM! "AGAINST ME! AGAINST ME! AGAINST ME! AGAINST ME!...."

I first off what say this is a very very good cd ,not great ,but damn close . It is torn between rock ,punk and pop...I have three of their cd's ...bought this one first ,(it is the place for the non-fan or first time fan as I was to start ) The live one ( "americans abroad " ) is my favorite and the first the axel rose thing which punk faithful love and I only found mildly good . These guys are moving toward the clashes lyrics , by that I mean smart and throw in talking head wit. The singers voice and the band are maturing at a nice pace and that is why these guys are a band to watch..I wonder why these guys do not get more air time ? maybe it is because they are not all rock or punk ...I say they are damn good and if you like music that packs a good tune with it's punch this is the cd for you ...then buy the live one ,trust me you will be hooked. plus the fun of good music is finding out and figuring it out yourself , not haveing some long windy write up telling you about each song by some one who wishes they were a critic insteafd of some shmuck working 9-5 come on people .think ,listen, think.
