hard-to-find Jan 13, 2008 My husband had this on cassette and had been unable to find the CD. As soon as I heard this, I went online to find it, order it, and surprise him at Christmas. He still loves it and is enjoying listening to it again.
Their best CD by far... Dec 16, 2007 I was 15 when I first saw OLP in concert 1999, having mostly listened to their major radio hits of Clumsy and Superman's Dead, I wasn't sure what to expect. Now, 8 years later, I realize what a gem Naveed was, and still is. I'd say it's one of my favorite rock albums from the 90's, up there with Throwing Copper and Nevermind. The hard driven guitar rock on Naveed far surpasses anything OLP has done since. Hard to believe that I didn't hear about these guys until Clumsy was released, but Naveed is a great album, a sound that I only wish they would have stuck with for longer. In my opinion, OLP kind of sold out after Clumsy, trying to make pop hits, and getting away from the awesome rock you will find on Naveed. If you were to only get one OLP album, Naveed is without a doubt their best.
By FAR the best Our Lady Peace Album Dec 02, 2007 After weeks of searching for this cd in Best Buys, Circuit Citys, etc. I decided to give it up and make an on-line order. It was more than worth it! By far the best Our Lady Peace cd, all 11 tracks provide a wonderful insight to the beginnings of a Canadian band that has graced the musical collections of many. It all just feels so fresh, exhilarating, each song wonderful enough to listen to multiple times a day and never get monotonous.. worth every penny.
Aquired Jan 12, 2007 Well if you are a person who have listened to Our Lady Peace (OLP) albums from the years 2000 and up, this may not be the one for you. This album was their first album and they have change quite a bit from the OLP you thought you knew. This early band on Naveed was a lot heavier than they appeared on Gravity and especially Healthy In Paranoid Times. There are no slow songs, all of the songs are pretty hard rock and quick paced. The hit songs are Naveed (of course), Starseed (which has an interesting beginning), and Dirty Walls.
Pros: album was produced well and is a new flavor from the music out today. the music is talented versus a bunch of drop D tuning and same beat songs. Songs like Starseed will keep you wanting for OLP albums.
Cons: guitar distortion on Starseed and Naveed sound identical (trust me its noticable). there are no slow songs. lyrics are creative but a little bit confusing (leaves like "uhh ok, whatever"
Naveed: 7/10
Clumsy: 8/10
Spiritual Machines: 8/10
Happiness is not a fish you can catch: 8.5/10
Gravity: 10/10
Healthy in Paranoid Times: 8.5/10

Their second best May 22, 2006 I'm kinda surprised that I havent reviewed any of OLPs stuff, as they are-er-were a great band.Their first four albums kick, but Gravity is crappy, and I havent heard their new one, but judging from the singles, it probably sucks too.Oh well, listen to their older stuff, when they used to be a rock band.
