Description:

"A showcase for new music that’s fallen under the mainstream radar." ("All Things Considered," NPR, April 24, 2004) Musically the hippest show on TV, "The O.C." spawns the edgiest album yet from the unprecedented Music From The O.C. series. Headlining Mix 4 is a new song from alt-rock superstar Beck, "Scarecrow," co-written and co-produced with The Dust Brothers, and "Decent Days And Nights" from post-punk pop’s The Futureheads. Two other tracks also debut—chamber-pop quintet Matt Pond PA unveils its cover of "Champagne Supernova," the mid-’90s #1 Modern Rocker from Oasis, and ethereal alt-rocker Imogen Heap (half of the band Frou Frou) offers "Goodnight And Go." Music From The O.C.: Mix 4 is as sharp as Marissa and as cool as Seth.

3its ok  Nov 20, 2006
its a good CD if you like indie music!

if you like the OC soundtracks, you should definately check out the One tree hill soundtracks...even if you dont watch the show, they have a perfect mix of indie and some more popular bands songs (plus Vol.2 donates some of the proceeds from the purchase to womens breast cancer research)!

all in all 3/5

5Wheezer?  Jul 15, 2006
Is there any OC mix that has Wheezer's song Beverly Hills on it? I could have sworn that the OC mix 4 had that song????!! I was going to buy it b/c of that song!

4Once again. The Kids Are Alright  Jan 26, 2006
I don't watch the O.C. I have nothing against it, I just never seem to see it. But I always hear things about how good the music is, so I figured I'd check out this soundtrack.

Awesome. They put the kids in charge. Sufjan Stephens?? Matt Pond PA?? How did the hipsters land that job of Music Supervisor? However they did, we can be grateful.

Lots of times these days, the best place to hear and discover new great music is on TV shows and on Commercials (you know, besides the internet). I don't know when MTV is gonna catch on already!

In the meantime, soundtracks like this will have to pave the way. Next year's season, look out for Apollo Sunshine, School for the Dead, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and the Lucksmiths. I betcha.

4GREAT ALBUM  Jan 25, 2006
This mix was yet another success. But I have to admit, the first one is still the best. I also wish they had the song "The World at Large" by Modest Mouse. They did a great job putting that in when Marissa's dad leaves in episode 2.07 (The Family Ties). Other than that, this is another great album.

5Girl OBSESSED with The O.C. This is the best mix EVER!!  Nov 21, 2005
This mix was yet another succcess. It had many brilliantly performed songs which otherwise would have probably never been heard. I just wish they had "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap. That's the only flaw of this mix. Otherwise it had really good songs like "The View" by Modest Mouse and "Champagne Supernova" by matt pond PA. Ur totally gonna luv this mix!!
