4Very Good  Nov 11, 2006
I'm not exactly the Three 6 expert. I worked in reverse order as far as they are concerned, starting with "Most Known Unknowns" and working back, and quickly found myself intimidated by about ten different albums. I did not know exactly what to do, and I was looking for some sort of "best of" collection that would take all of their good stuff and put in into one easy to manage package. This CD fills that void perfectly.

Okay, now on to the actual music. There is a lot worth listening to in this one. Their lyrics are formulaic, but they are executed with an attention to detail not often seen in lyrics such as these. Their crunk heavy hooks are extremely catchy. All that being said, their production is amazing. I would even go so far as to say that they and Organized Noise might be southern rap's best producers ever. Their high-hat heavy drum patterns combined with a heavy 808 and eerie additional sound effects make for a very unique sound, not just rapwise but really for all music.

There were a bunch of specific songs that definitely jumped off the proverbial page at me. "Sippin' on Some Syrup" with UGK and Project Pat has an otherworldly feel that could only happen with a drug song. "Tear Da Club Up '97" is one of if not the greatest crunk song ever, outstripping most if not all of Lil' Jon's work. "Ridin' Spinners" is bouncy and has an excellent verse from Lil' Flip. "2 Way Freak" has a nice beat, catchy hook and funny lyrics. "Put Ya Signs" is another eerie club song, and "Hypnotize Cash Money" with the Cash Money crew is solid. There are a few missteps. "Slop on my Nob" is disgusting in every sense of the word, and "Late Night Tip" is annoying.

Apart from a couple missteps, this is an extremely worthwhile purchase for any rap fan. Lil' Jon maybe the King of Crunk, but Three 6 Mafia are definitely the founding fathers of this sub-genre.

5needs to be 2, or even 3 discs  Aug 07, 2006
for the past few months I've been getting into three 6 mafia, buying any of their cds I can find. I would definitely say they're top 10 of all time in hip-hop groups, but as with most greatest hits cds, this one doesn't cut it.

now, I'll give it 5 stars because it's the three 6 and all of these songs are bangers, the only real way to get into three 6 mafia is to buy their best cds, or at least buy the best from each disc off of itunes (which is fine, since three 6 has a few filler tracks on each album). "rainbow colors", "stomp", "live by yo rep" and many more classic three 6 songs are missing from their "greatest hits". it seems as if this wasn't meant to be a true collection of their greatest hits, but rather a compilation of their most accessible mainstream songs to complement the release of their latest cd.

all of these songs are good, but there are many more good ones, and if you really want to listen to some three 6 mafia go buy their entire collection and skip on this album.

5If you are contemplating getting this you should...  Mar 17, 2006
I think this Album was conveiniently made for the new Three 6 fans, that came after Stay Fly hit radio airways hit hard, and made them household names... Sure it doesna have alot of there best stuff, and to be honest your best bet for just one song slob on my knob is Dl'ing it on Limewire, I hate to say that, but then you can get both versions in one.
Baisically seasoned Three 6 fans wont wanna buy this cause it has a bunch of songs they already have with only 2 new ones, but for people who are new to three 6 this is the best way to introduce yourself to them, and unlike most of there old albums it doesnt have absolutely horrid album art. ( Thank god by Da unbreakables they learned form there mistakes ) And the songs on here dont have the rugged raw, and sometimes scary lyrics of Mystic Styles, so newbiez wont be scared off. This is there more commericial stuff, so it is nice
Thease are in my opinion best songs on this CD in no particular order...

Tear da club up '97 ( Baisically invented crunk music )
Ridin Spinnas
Sippen on some syrup
Slob on my knob
Ass an tites
J-Lo Bootys
Late Nite Tip ( Relaxed different an tight )
Tounge Ring ( Tight ass hook )
Testin my gangsta

I have one question... Why is Wolf Wolf not on here? That song is very commercial an nice for the new Three 6 fan, and it just simply owns...
Other than that this is a very nice mix, and a smart one by the record company that out it out, cause now people who hered Stay Fly, bought the CD will here this, and then in turn want all there stuff. This is good for Three 6, and they deserve it after 15 years of hustling, to make it to the top...

RECCOMEND THIS REVEIW PLEASE!

3Ok, but could have been much better.  Mar 03, 2006
This album had tracks like "Tear Da Club Up", "Late Night Tip", "Sippin' On Some Syrup", "Slob On My Knob" and "Baby Mama" which are all necessary because of their popularity, but that doesn't make this album a collection of Three 6's best work. "Who Run It" and "Ridin' Spinners" are also up there in terms of notoriety. How could you do an H.C.P. (Hypnotize Camp Posse) "Most Known Hits" album without "Chickenhead" and "Don't Save Her" which made Project Pat platinum? I would like to have seen more of their Prophet Posse cuts like "Motivated" from the album "World Domination" in 1997 and either "Da Summa" from "Mystic Styles" in 1995 or "Da Summa" (Remix) from "The Kings Of Memphis" released in 2000. This album must not have been thought through very well.

I am a big Three 6 fan and have all of their group and affiliate albums, but this one is a little under the bar. It might be ok for new listeners, but not for those who have listened to Three 6 for a while.

I wouldn't by it because I have all of these songs except for the two new ones, but if you are new to H.C.P. you might give it a try.

4Project Pat song is sick!!!!  Feb 28, 2006
This is a pretty good CD with a lot of songs that will get you hyped up when you're krunk, but the last song on the CD, the Project Pat song is hard as f*ck!! The lyrics are bad ass and the beat on the 2nd verse is sick.
