Powerful and Touching Mar 26, 2009 A haunting and profound CD. The single The Worst Things Beautiful about Jimmy's own private hell, after the accidental death of his girlfriend Jimmy was on the very brink of suicide. But, while standing on a roof top about to jump, he gets a call from his young son who unknowingly saves his father. So Jimmy writes this song as a thank you to his child for being his savior. His voice cuts through you to the bone, leaving you mezmerized and aching.
OURS new Sep 20, 2008 This new release from the band OURS reminds me of why I fell in love with the music in 2000. Long space in between but never a disapointment when they resurrect an album.

Found something I wasn't looking for with this one Aug 18, 2008 I am uncomfortable describing an art product by comparing it with others because individual taste is, well, so individual. But, finding this weird, I need to try to help potential buyers to guess if they might like it or not. It tries to be a bit of both Buckleys - but inevitably fails to reach those heights - the struggle to do so can be discerned. A little bit Muse and Radiohead - but without the polish of the latter. For me, there is too much of this sort of mix around and none of it is quite good enough.

A must buy!! Aug 05, 2008 Ours is amazing - Jimmy's voice is awesome, angelic....cuts right through you....the lyrics give you chills. I wish their music was played on the radio !
Another Gem Jul 25, 2008 Ours is a GREAT band. I have been a fan since I saw them at the Cricket Club in Irvington N.J., back in 93' (so long ago). I was BLOWN AWAY by them the first, and every time I saw them play. They recorded at Boulevard Studios at the same time as my band, and I had the honor of talking with Jimmy Gnecco here and there. He's a brilliant musician and songwriter, and as far as I could tell, a great human being. It's great to see him working with producers like Lilywhite and Rubin; what a dream come true.
Mercy is a step in the ongoing evolution of this band, and it is highly recommended listening. The title song draws from a tune "Ours" from their true first album/demo called "Sour", older fans most certainly heard it and recognized it. (I really hope they remix and release that old stuff.) My favs on this record are "Willing" and "The Worst Things Beautiful".
Ours music is moving, sincere, intense and POWERFUL. Jimmy is a frontman who's performances are incredibly POTENT.
I wish these guys a long and fruitful career.
-Vin
