Brave woman exposes truth! Jul 07, 2009 This is one of the best books to blow the lid off the medical profession and to try and reach average people. Nancy has taken great risk to debunk the medical profession and life saving advice...read it before its too late!
A great book by a great woman! A hero!

A Nice Self-Care Primer Jun 29, 2009 Friendly in tone, open and self-disclosing, informative, lucent - a great self-care primer, accessible reference book. Format-wise: two books in one: you can browse through "truths" and "news you can use," or you can read through the "medical myths" chapters. Great informational value.

Excellent resourse Jun 25, 2009 The author gives the reader an excellent text book on personal health care -- yes a text book, not a novel.

Just Plain Wrong on Hep C Mar 24, 2009 Not sure if she's dispelling myths or creating them based on her assertion that Hepatitis C is spread through sexual activity. (She spends an astounding one sentence on the disease that infects nearly 4 million people in the US alone - and that sentence is erroneous.) The truth is that sex is rarely the cause of transmission. No mention of the fact that HCV is blood born and most commonly spread through drug use or transfusions. Quite a glaring oversight. Are we even sure she's a doctor?

Healthy and entertaining audiobook Feb 27, 2009 Medical Myths That Can Kill You makes for great non fiction listening. The material in this book is as engaging as the title. Who doesn't want to hear about medical misinformation that could kill you? I really feel healthier and safer after listening to this audiobook. Author and narrator Nancy L. Snyderman, MD does a great job presenting the material. The audiobook format works well, since Snyderman has lots of experience in front of the camera on NBC Nightly News, the Today show and MSNBC. Her vocal performance is excellent and it was a wise choice to have her narrate her own book.
Snyderman presents the material in succinct, well informed segments that work well on CD. The information is very interesting, like a great news segment, which makes listening enjoyable and informative. Health conscious audiobook listeners won't be disappointed.
