 Linda Ronstandt finds her roots Nov 14, 2009
I bought 'Canciones de mi Padre' and 'Mas Canciones' when they first came out but I bought them on cassette tape. I recently realized I needed to have them on cd. I absolutely love them! If you thought Linda could sing in the 70s, you haven't heard anything. Those mariachi songs are difficult to sing and Linda did them proudly, greatly, and spiritually.

I really expected more from this artist given her past successes, but this CD was too too "romanticos". It was a little on the dull side.

She is perhaps the best living singer in the world (in any language). Fabulous CD.

Linda sounds great. The music sounds great.... this is a must have for any collection.

Linda or Lola? May 26, 2007
Who is a better ranchera singer, Linda Ronstadt or Lola Beltrán? Lola has a deeper voice, but both can certainly belt out a song! It's hard to say who is better. It's like choosing between Pavarotti and Plácido Domingo.
The sad fact, though, is that the fidelity of most of Lola's albums is very low...they sound like they were recorded on a home tape recorder. And since she has now passed away, there will never be any new recordings.
