4great cap-off to a great album  Feb 19, 2010
I loved Joy's Mamani album, and her subsequent Born & Raised album, but Mamani (a South African term meaning "mother") was the album that really put her on the map in Germany, and abroad. The songs are from a single live show she did in Berlin just for this album. It's mostly an acoustic set (no electric guitars, etc), just drums, congas, keys, xylophone, etc. It works well. Joy's energy comes through, proving she's a great performer. If you liked Mamani, you'll like this. Highly recommended.
