Noticeable departure from signature style is somewhat questionable, but still above average for a 2001 R&B release Sep 28, 2007 After spending the past 2 decades becoming soul music's most prominent love balladier, some people (including myself) were taken aback when they heard this album. His voice and lyrical skills haven't diminished, but working with younger, less polished producers may not have been the best idea. There are some great songs, like the uber-catchy "How Do I Tell Her" and the exuberantly gospel-ish "Say It Now." However "Grown Thangs" is too hip-hoppish and immature sounding, and is a waste of his immense vocal talent, and "Let's Make Tonight The Night", while lyrically respectable, sounds suspiciously like "Outstanding" by The Gap Band. I hope that I'm mistaken about that, because the idea of Luther Vandross sampling is downright scary. Overall, though, the album has many strong points, and I think we would all agree that it is impossible for there to be any such thing as a truly bad Luther Vandross album.
Wowo's Review Jan 17, 2007 Luther Vandross is very fresh in this CD and he is happenning! A must to have...
Forever, For Always, For Luther Aug 12, 2005 I am loving the listening pleasure of this classic & legendary compact disc, which captivated me from the door. I especially appreciate the expeditious delivery of the item!!
3 STAR CD WITH A 5 STAR SONG!! Jul 15, 2005 Luther loved Dionne Warwick as the rest of the world. But, none of us would be able to do justice to a "Dionne song" like Luther Vandross.
From "A House Is Not A Home" to "Anyone Who Had A Heart" to "What The World Needs Now" to the wonderful version of "Are You there (with another guy)" on this CD. 5 STARS!!!!!!!!
Other stars on this cd are: "Take You Out, Grown Thangs, I'd Rather and Any Day Now (Chuck Jackson's 60's mega hit)
BUY IT!!!!!!!!

Always and Forever Jul 04, 2005 I've been listening to this album and the Super Hits album non-stop over the weekend. I've read the reviews citing "weak material" and that this album might not showcase Luther's talents in the best possible light, but "I'd Rather" has always brought tears to my eyes at every listening. Luther's music truly did embody the "Power of Love" and his passing has left a void that can never be filled. We were blessed to have him as long as we did.
