4E-40's Last Great Album  Aug 12, 2009
A solid follow-up to 1999's Charlie Hustle: The Blueprint of a Self-Made Millionaire and 1998's double cd classic The Element of Surprise. This is west coast underground bay area gangsta rap at it's best. This 2000 release is E-40's last great album. The album features several stand-out tracks, including: "Loyalty and Betrayal", "Ya Blind" with Eightball & Jazze Pha, "To Whom This May Concern" about the state of the record biz, a dope track with Ice Cube called "Behind Gates" and an all-star list of guest stars on "Doin The Fool" (Pimp C of UGK, Too Short, Pastor Troy and one time Sic Wid It alum Ska Face Al Kapone). A video was released back in 2000 for the song "Nah, Nah..." with Nate Dogg. "Pop ya Collar" is also a good track and has B-Legit, D-Shot and Suga T - aka - The Click.

5Prime Example of Bay Area, Better Yet, West Coast Rap: Str8 Lace Game By E  Jan 18, 2008
In 2000, E-40 drops yet another west coast masterpiece, his 6th album (including 1994 EP The Mailman). Once again, E-40 hits you with some great slanguage ("Flamboastin") and has some of the best west coast producers to lace him with cool G-Funk and Mobb Music. The beats on this album are some of the best out the west in 2000. Bosko, Battlecat, Tone Capone, Blaqtoven, DJ Silk, Rick Rock, Jazze Pha, and SMK produce some of the highest quality cuts for E to spit his game over. "Lace Me Up" has that vintage west coast G-Funk updated for the 21st century. He and sister Suga-T lace ya with real game; it seems like a cool sequel to 1995's "Sprinkle Me." "N---a Sh--" features Mack 10, D-Shot, Suga-T, and B-Legit and is a hard lowrider ready mobb joint. The beat simply slaps with that Bosko funk perfect to c-walk or b-walk to. Levitti provides one of his cool, vintage moany hook vocals. A nice gangsta joint is "Like A Jungle" featuring another lowrider Bosko beat, and Bosko's slick vocorder and Kokane's moany hook vocals, a cool mobb joint. "Pop Ya Collar" definitely bangs with some deep-groove, cool-breezy g-funk (cool funk samples). The Click (40 Water, Suga T, B-Legit, D-Shot) deliver a fun, party starting track here. "Flamboastin'" has a bangin' heavy beat and features Baby of Cash Money Records and floss hard, and 40 really busts out his slanguage like crazy here. "Nah Nah..." w/ Nate Dogg's cool hook vocals is a west caost classic. The beat is smooth Battlecat L.A. style G-Funk (one of his best beats ever), which E-40 raps over as good as he does to the bay funk. It is a song dealing with the drama with the opposite sex. This song got so much play in my senior year in high school 1999-2000. E flows real good over southern style beats too! He kills it on "Clown Wit It" f/ Mystikal. Bosko did a great job creating a pulsating southern beat, and the 2's different rap styles fit the beat perfectly. Jazze Pha creates a cool G-Funk smoker on Ya Blind, and he, E-40, Eightball, Too Short school ya about scandalous women. This album definitely has a lot going for it. I feel that this is one of his best albums, and he has had some real classics from the 1990's. I like this one better than the ones that followed, and better than 1999's Charlie Hustle: The Blueprint Of A Self-Made Millionaire, and maybe even more than 1998's double banger The Element If Surprise. Soak up some real game and get laced by E.

4Game & Slang  Aug 25, 2005
Loyalty And Betrayal is album number seven (if I'm not mistaken) for the Bay's Ambassador, E-40. Very few emcees / rappers have released this many albums, maintained street credibility, and been such an influence on slang and still takes it in stride as 40 has. As the title track maximize the stop and go flow to unmatched heights. The brother and sister combination of hustling on "Lace Me Up" featuring Suga T. is a simple track that emphasizes game and nothing but. "Sinister Mob" featuring Nate Dogg is a slow gangster groove where Nate almost stole the show with his singing / rap flow. For the mainstream appeal, "Nah, Nah..." featuring Nate Dogg still has a rough edge to it. Upbeat and more of a disco / 70's tune blended well with the expensive taste of "Pop Ya Collar" featuring B-Legit & D-Shot. The West Coast connection between 40 Fonzarelli and Ice Cube is just a classic collaboration on "Behind Gates". The off-beat, loud high production of Pastor Troy didn't affect the flows of these veterans on "Doin' The Fool" featuring Too $hort, Pastor Troy & Pimp C. Rick Rock's production on "It's Pimpin'" is nothing to sleeper as this is one of the album's highlights as well as "Clown Wit It" featuring Mystikal for example. Earl stay's consistent and evolving and that's what keeps the word longevity as an understatement.

4Another 40 Water classic!  Jun 24, 2004
I love this album by the biggest Bay Area Bo$$ Fonzarelli. I think it's better than the previous three ones, because on this album, E-40 finally slows down his flow, so we can actually understand everything he's saying. His style is still one of the craziest and most original ones, but since he's rapping slower, it makes the album so dope! As usual, 40 works with the best rappers and producers out there. You get great gust appearences by Too $hort, Nate Dogg, The Click, Eightball, Jazze Pha, Ice Cube, Mack 10 and many many more (not that 40 needs help, but it makes the album sound more intresting). You've got to get this album, cause it's Sick Wid It at it's finest!... I think it's 40's best album since "In a major way"!... You can't go wrong with it.

3e-phese what happened sahab  Nov 21, 2001
this album is one that i wasnt to happy wit. dont get me wrong e is still spittn game, but i feel this album had way too many guests. guests arent a bad thing, but if your goin to have guests, have guests that complement your style not belittle. e-40 has so much game and talent he dosnt need any guests. e keep doin what u do playa, but next time get some tighter guests. get this if u a e-40 fan if not dont, cause you probably wont get the game thats comin out of this.
