One of the best B side compilations ever Dec 06, 2009 This might as well be a full blown album. The songs are that good. Almost all of them are great. There is a definite Led Zeppelin influence throughout the album, along with some other strange twists such as the surfer-rock Gremmie Out Of Control and the Chili Pepper homage, Dirty Frank. That is what I like most about this collection; its eclectic variety that is more hit than miss.
Pearl Jam are a very capable band that can incorporate any style or mood into their sound and make it their own. There's a little less of the noisy punk-influenced numbers that they do sometimes. This is a good thing. The music here is much easier to digest. Not that they didn't create masterpieces before, they've made a few. The punkier songs are usually a little harder to like, although I'm sure that they attract a certain kind of fan and give the band an edgier street credibility. I'm not fooled by that though. This is a college-rock band that has as much depth lyrically and musically as any other classic rock band that came before them. They can rock, weep and lead in grand fashion and it's still only rock and roll. This is a great album for both beginner and hardcore PJ fans alike. Recommended... Highlights include:
Sad
Down
Hitchhiker
Don't Gimme No Lip
Alone
In The Moonlight
Education
You
Gremmie Out Of Control
Undone
Hold On
Yellow Ledbetter
Fatal
Drifting
Last Kiss
Dirty Frank
Brother
some things shouldn't be Oct 30, 2009 This is quite a confusing album. Most of the songs on cd 2 are excellent as are a couple on cd 1. With that being said, albums like Binaural would have been much better if some of the songs on Lost Dogs would have been used there. Furthermore many of the songs on Cd 1 and a couple on Cd2 should never have seen the light of day. This should have been a one disc collection but it seems someone wanted to extract some extra cash out of the fans--something which seems out of keeping with Pearl Jam. The album is worth a buy but do yourself a favor and pick up a used copy.
Collection of Great songs! Sep 08, 2009 Since this album is B-sides and Rarities you might be hesitant to purchase but...this album is great. Many of the songs could have been and should have been singles. Knowing that Pearl Jam wants to keep a low profile I understand why they were not. This is a album to buy for the maybe fan or those that only know Pearl Jam through Alive or Jeremy (and of course fans). It is a sampling of songs that make Pearl Jam unique and special. Favorites on the album are Sad, Down, the great Hard to Imagine, Fatal, Footsteps and finally concert encore closer Yellow Kedbetter. Buy this album.

Nothing worth finding here. Aug 19, 2009 The title is fitting becasue thats what you get. B-sides already released and other songs that just suck. This is also an expencive package for such aweful crap.
