It grows on you Nov 17, 2009 Very good CD. Takes a while to get used to listening but once you do the songs get stuck in your head all of the time. Theh lyrics are a little on the abstract side and not so direct that you learn all of them by the third time you've heard the tracks.

I think it's great Oct 21, 2009 This is more a few random musings about the album than a real review. I think the whole album is infectious. Maybe it's because I like dancy electronic music that I enjoy this. I actually like this better than Writer's Block. Writer's Block was top heavy and this is consistently enjoyable the whole way through. It did take me a little while to like it similar to Passion Pit which ended up being my favorite album of the year. This is really good though, it's not mainstream sounding at all and it may not make my top 10 but it's definitely worth repeated listens. By the way, Blue Period Picasso is a fantastic song and one of my favorites of the year.

good but not great Jul 13, 2009 It's no Writer's Block, but is still a good album especially if you are in dire need of some new PB & J.
Not a "pop" album like Writer's Block...but a couple of greats! May 15, 2009 Yes...everyone here who said this album is a departure from their previous ones is correct. This album is less pop...more synth...with very little guitar. Lots of electronic beats...quiet songs almost.
When I first listened to it...I 100% immediately found a super mega hit in "I Want You." Everyone I've played it for has liked it instantaneously. It's one of my favorite PB & J songs ever. If you're going to download one...make it that one.
"It Don't Move Me" has a great beat...it sorta doesn't go to any crescendo...but still a good song.
"Why Can't We Stay This Way" is, again, slow...no guitar..but such a good song.
The last song on the album, "Last Night"...also slow..and sorta haunting..but fantastic. Those are my four favorites.
I find that everybody who has it finds a different favorite song(s) which tells me that in the end...it's a pretty good album.
In closing...I'd say this album is NOT better than Writer's Block, but I think it's on par with all their other albums. If you buy it, just know that it's a different experience than Writer's Block and enjoy it for what it is. There is gold here.
Fun syntho pop songs Apr 22, 2009 There are several hits here. "It don't move me" is definitely the top single. And, of course the first release, "Nothing to worry about," is certainly fun to listen to. But, the real summer smash here is "Lay it down," which if they could somehow mix out the FCC unallowed word, could become a pop sensation. I also really like "Last night" as a soft ending to this mostly upbeat electronic sound. Take it for what it's worth people. It's fun, syntho pop. I highly recommend it for taking a ride with the windows down and the volume turned way up!
