4Good but enough  Mar 19, 2004
I really like The Ataris, this DVD is a great piece of them, but they could do it better, the whole thing about "In this diary" stuff behind the scenes is cool, I really wish that the others guys talked more than just what they said, Mr.Roe talks a lot.
The whole concert ir really belive me really good, it's awesome, but it's really short, only 30 minutes and only 5 songs: Takeoffs and landings, Unopened letter to the world, My reply (Where only Kris Roe plays), Teengae Riot, Song 13.

They just amazing live, but I reallywish that they could make a longer DVD, with live stuff, Cause they're amazing live!!!

Hope this was helpful for you, but i this wasn't I'm sorry.

4The ataris rule  Nov 22, 2003
Any fan of the ataris this is a must have it isnt to long but it includes the making of and video for "in this diary" wich is cool but then they play 4 or 5 songs i cant remeber i dont have it with me but even though your not there there energy is so raw it feels like you are especialy when they play "Teenage riot" this video is so cheap it is a must have for any fan the only thing wrong with it is that they dont play boys of summer

3Good concert, bad DVD  Jul 17, 2003
Given its billing as a live DVD, you'd think there would be more than five live tracks on here. This is essentially a watered-down version of the Ataris' MusicChoice concert that was aired on TV a couple months ago, with the music video for "In This Diary" tacked on for good measure. The original concert ran for an hour (with commercials) and had at least ten songs, if I recall correctly. The whole thing was excellent, too; I don't know why so many tracks were left off of this DVD. What's here is good, though, especially the raucous performance of "Teenage Riot" and Kris Roe's solo electric guitar rendition of "My Reply." At such a low price, this isn't a bad purchase, but it could have been so much better if the entire live show had been included.

5awesome  Jul 02, 2003
i was at this filming. stood in line for hours on end to get to the video shoot and this free concert afterwards. the only thing that sucks about this is the fact that its only 30 minutes long. the concert was at least an hour and he played at least 10 songs. also, it sucks that they cut out the part where Kris just made up a song on the spot about the supposed asbestos in the building and how we were going to die in 20 years. that song was awesome. im glad that i saw myself in this video, i was bummed that i didn't see myself in the music video, but i'm glad nonetheless that im on this DVD. if you're an ataris fan, this is a must-have!.

"you think i'm just a kid, but you don't f'in get it, i'm strong in my convictions and don't you forget it." - kris roe.

4Here In This DVD...  Jul 01, 2003
finally the ataris have a dvd out, cuz it's about time. the dvd is only about 30 minutes long including the "in this diary" music video and the making of "in this diary". both which are pretty interesting to watch, you also get to see the band getting ready for their performance (in the music video). the live performances are of "takeoffs and landings", "teenage riot", "my reply", "unopened letter to the world", and "song #13". both the sound and picture are extremly great while the ataris performs live.

takeoffs and landings: this performance is pretty good, you can hear kris' vocal's perfectly and everything is great.

teenage riot: this might be the best performance of them all (besides song #13) because you can sorta tell kris has meaning behind this song... plus things get really out of control.

my reply: different from the version on the "so long astoria" CD, it's only kris playing his guitar and singing. it's not that bad but the crowd is EXTREMLY dull on this one...

unopened letter to the world: another great performance by the ataris. plus, his vocal's sound great on this song and all the guitars and drums are great too.

song #13: besides "teenage riot", this was probably my favorite performance of them all. kris does a great job at singing this song and jumping around and doing crazy stuff... the only disapointing part of this song is that he let's the crowd sing the chorus which wasn't too appealing to me.

so all in all [I would have paid more]for this DVD (although i am a diehard Ataris fan). i highly recommend this dvd to every ataris fan out there, wheather you like the new ataris or the old, this is a great dvd to have. i only wish there were more songs...
