Description:

Posehn's 'Live In: Nerd Rage' reveals the hilarious observations of a self-professed nerd and life-long fan of heavy metal. At times the record is personal, nasty, dry, and absurd, but it's always funny. Brian muses on being a teenage heavy metal fan, marriage, his dog Ernie, high-school reunions, body 'parts' and getting revenge on childhood tormentors. Recorded as part of Brian's appearances on the Comedians of Comedy tour, and including a sketch with Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show), 'Live In: Nerd Rage' is Brian at his funniest and will have everyone who hears it seeing the world through a totally different set of eyes.

Not just mere stand-up however, 'Live In: Nerd Rage' also incorporates two musical cuts; one by Brian's heavy metal band POSEHN and another by TITANNICA. POSEHN's lineup is a who's who of the hard rock elite; featuring Scott Ian [ANTHRAX], Joey Vera [ARMORED SAINT], John Tempesta [WHITE ZOMBIE, THE CULT] with Brian himself on vocals. POSEHN slays with the soon-to-be-legendary original "Metal By Numbers" while TITANNICA [the metal band from the beloved Mr. Show sketch] delivers their epic track "Try Again, Again".

3Good and nerdy  Sep 03, 2009
This album starts off very strong, and is funny until the middle. Then, the editing kicks in, and it's clear that few audiences laughed at Posehn's lesser jokes, so the album takes on this laughter-edited-in quality than didn't quite sit with me. Posehn references Patton Oswalt a few times because they knew and lived with each other. While Oswalt extends his humor beyond his sci-fi, nerdy self, Posehn wallows in it, and sometimes this works in Posehn's favor but too often it doesn't. And he knows it. He sighs at his own flopped jokes and struggles to regain steam. He throws off using segues as if it is old hat, but really the best comics have always moved fluidly within their respective material. This is a funny album, yes, but it's not always at the same level of humor.

5One of my favorite comedy albums.  Feb 14, 2009
This album is just fantastic. Funny jokes about nerdy stuff, it's like the holy grail for people like me. What's great about Brian Posehn is how laid back and conversational his delivery is. He's just a guy telling you about what he thinks, doing it an incredibly funny way. Brian is one of my favorite comics, and I can't recommend buying this album enough. Not only are you going to be treating yourself to something great, but you'll be supporting a wonderful comic.

5The funniest "nerd" on the planet?  Sep 27, 2008
Maybe, but it does not matter, this album is very funny and I really like Mr. Posehn's honesty about himself. He touches on the subject of nerdiness with insight and great humor.

5Hillarious  Apr 18, 2008
Brian Posehn is hillarious. He's sense of humor is up there with Lewis Black. If you like his CD you should check out his graphic novel (comic book) "The Last Christmas".

5absolutely hilarious  Mar 19, 2008
Absolutely hilarious CD. "Nerd Rage" is definitely an appropriate title. Armed with a love of video games, comic books, sci-fi, D&D, heavy metal, and so on, Posehn can make anyone laugh, regardless of whether they are in on the different sub-cultures listed above.

My personal favorite skits are "yelling stuff" and "show a little neck." For fans of other Comedians of Comedy like Patton Oswalt, Maria Bamford, David Cross, etc. Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!
