Brilliant and deserves its huge critical acclaim Mar 28, 2009 Kate and this album (and her sophomore album) are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Did you know that Kate was only 26 when she did this album and yet half of the songs on here are written completely by her! The songs are brilliant and ingenious. The album has got a beutifal theme. And that expression on Kate's face is unmissable. That person who said the lyrics were confusing, it's just that this isn't really pop. It is music not for dancing or catchyness but for quality. The album has 2 limited editions: A Bonus DVD version and A Bonus CD version. Don't get this one because it's the standard edition. I recommend the bonus CD version as it has 2 exclusive tracks, an exclusive live song and a live version of "Ducks Don't Need Satelittes" .
Fantastic Debut Album Apr 06, 2008 Kate Miller-Heidke is a truly inspiring artist.
This album has beautifully original songs which will keep you enthralled and entertained.
On a side note. I have just returned from a live performance at the Quarry Amphitheatre in Perth, Western Australia and I have to say that Kate sounds better live!
I have always enjoyed her music, but throw in her natural charm, comedic timing, grace, wonderful interpretation and amazing band during the live performance and you have one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time.
Just goes to show that art and performance can still outshine glitz, glamour and pyrotechnics!
Enjoy the CDs then track her down for a live performance.
I can't wait to see her again.
What better excuse to fly for a holiday to Australia!!
Love! Mar 10, 2008 I love Kate. It's true. She's wonderful live--a great performer and a lovely person both--and this album is her first that really captures a taste of her talent. It has been a long standing complaint that her EPs don't do her justice: Kate is phenomenal live and once you see her you are bound to be a fan. Little Eve is her only album that really gives the listener some of the frenzied energy that comes with her shows. Kate is an incredible musician, trained as an opera singer and now one of Australia's rising stars. Her band are lovely, as well, and the new tunes come across almost as well as they do on stage. Highly reccomended.

Good album but confused lyrics Jul 19, 2007 This debut album for Australian singer Kate Miller-Heidke is a good album but some of the songs are a bit confusing. Kate has written or co-written most of the songs and they have something that when you think you know what the song means, you sort of don't. The track "Ducks Don't Need Satellites" has the best lyrics and tell how ducks have no cares or worries and thats how people want to live. The way Miller-Heidke uses her operah voice and uses it with pop is amazing and is used on most songs. The best tracks include "Words", "Mama" (which hopefully is the second single), "Little Adam" and "Bored with Me". If you liked "Words" then buy this album, but the CD single version of the song is much better than the album's version.
