book is an obvious second Nov 20, 2009 the book was listed as new, while it may have been new it could not be sold as one! the pages had to be cut on a majority of them. the pages are printed at such an angle that the numbers are cut off! this has not been the case with other books that have been purchased. i complained to the seller and recieved no reponse. i would not purchase from this seller again.

Lidia's Italy. What else can I say. Nov 19, 2009 I just love the recipes in this book. I bought it for one specific recipe that I haven't had in years and falling in love with the rest. Lidia reminds me of my mother who was born in Italy and is no longer with us. Her cooking brings me back to when I was a child. Thank you Lidia.
Lidia's Italy Nov 13, 2009 Like most people who purchased this book, I have long enjoyed Lidia's cooking show. In fact, a calamari recipe featured on one of her shows is what inspired me to get ahold of the book. Needless to say I made the calamari and it was yummers. Since then I have made her chicken cacciatora with eggplant and apple strudel with caramelized walnuts, both winners! I also have a handful of recipes marked for the near future. While I agree with some of the reviewers that there are a few recipes that I would probably never feel the desire to attempt, I have to ask, does a cookbook exist that we use in it's entirety? Nope. Not likely. This is a good, well-written cookbook with with nice photographs and clear and insightful instructions. I look forward to getting a lot of use out of it.

Why was it noted as property of a public library? Nov 08, 2009 The book was in good condition, but I felt as though it had been stolen by someone from a public library - I think it was Palm Springs.
Mostly simple, and delicious Oct 14, 2009 Recipes simple to fix for the most part but delicious and varied in content. Excellent use of variety of vegetables and many simple sauces as base.
