Fantastic! May 16, 2009 Just when I think I've heard the BEST Doris Day album ever, along comes another treasure!!! I thought nothing could compare to the Doris Day/Andre Previn Duets album, but this one certainly does! While I love ALL of Miss Day's music, this album has to be my favorite so far. Also, it contains one of my favorite Doris Day songs ever ("Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps")--what more could I ask?! It's just plain fantastic!
The liner notes say that "Latin for Lovers" was recorded in fewer than 10 hours! Simply amazing--and quite a testament to Miss Day's remarkable, heaven-sent talent! Today's so-called singers can't even come close....
This album - a glass of wine and fond memories Jan 28, 2009 Listening to Ms Day's voice is like listening to liquid gold. All I need to feel great on a rainy afternoon is this this double album - a glass of wine and fond memories. When you listen to these songs, sung by this voice - you know why we fall in love. Perfection!
Sheer perfection Dec 29, 2007 These two albums display some of the best work Doris has ever done. Her voice is rich and sensuous. Her phrasing is impeccable. Enjoy it with someone you love.

Doris charmed me. May 10, 2007 This CD has very good composition.
I am especially pleased with "FLY ME TO THE MOON" in the highest.
She who is also a singer and also an actress demonstrates the talent to the power of expression of music.
The Sultry Side of Doris Day! Sep 14, 2006 Sultry is not and adjective that quickly comes to mind describing Doris Day, but it definitely applies here. Released at the height of the Bossa Nova craze and at the height of her fame in the early 60's, Latin for Lovers is one of her finest recordings. Sexy, and sensual, Doris has never sounded better singing these Latin songs (in English, of course, though she does sing a few phrases in Spanish on one song). A few songs, like Fly Me to the Moon have been rearranged and fit perfectly with the rest of the sets Latin mood. Love Him!, released around the same time period, is not quite as good, lacking in focus, but is also one of her best with some unusual cuts: Love Him!, which is a highly dramatic reading for Doris; Willy Nelson's Night Life and some nice covers of standards from that time. This twofer is a real treat and a bargain at any price!
