3hide your love  Nov 06, 2009
GOOD HITS but REALLY IS 3-4 SONGS SHORT !!!! WHY,...WHY don't the stones put" HIDE YOUR LOVE" on a hits album. It is the best song from GOAT HEAD SOUP album. GREATEST blues song they ever sung, wish it was on there album "STRIPPED" more then a hits collection, wanta be ( INSTEAD ). Why, because mick could really sing this song well on a live or unplugged album. This song, hide your love, is buy far the most underplayed , not recognized song of the stones. RE-RECORD IT, MICK and stick it on a ALL BLUES ALBUM, by the stones. We need that to, by the way ( ALL BLUES ALBUM ).....before you quit singing. SERIOUSLY. Aerosmith did this and it's there best album since early nineties....EVER, in my opinion. ( PS) The song "GIONG TO A GO-GO" is great and should really be put on a STONES HIT ALBUM AS WELL. Or a re-release of "STRIPPED" collectors edition....for collectors. REALLY SOUNDS GOOD LIVE...for stripped. WHICH IS A LIVE RARE HIT SONG COLLECTION....by the stones. BY FAR BETTER THEN THIS HITS CD.

5ROLLING STONES LICK IT UP  Sep 29, 2009
The Stones Tongue says it all: stick it out to show disdain, lust, joy, disrespect, anger and/or taunting. It is the perfect representation of the Stones History. And these songs from the second era of their brilliant career attest to their reign as the Greatest Rocknroll Band in the World. When the Stones are on,
no one comes close to matching their Genius. JUMP BACK is a jump forward that never
misses a beat- Jump to it Jack!

It's hard to imagine a Stones fan not being offended by the edited down versions of some of the songs here. "Miss You" comes off sounding like an advertising jingle. Add to that the incoherent song sequencing, and you have a real mess. It's also unclear why it's necessary for "Wild Horses" and "Brown Sugar" to appear on every Stones' compilation. Unfortunately, Jump Back is probably the best Stones' compilation of post-60s material. Jump Back does include all of the band's major hits during the period from 1971 through 1989. Forty Licks suffers from the same problems, besides offering a much weaker overview of their 60s music compared to Rolled Gold+ (or Hot Rocks). With thousands (well, not quite thousands) of RS compilations out on the market, they should have gotten it right by now. Unfortunately not!

3About time this was released in USA  Oct 14, 2007
I've never known why there are so many compiliations of the Rolling Stones 60's hits but very few of their 70's & 80's hits. I've known this album was only available in other countries since 1993. In 2004 they finally released it in America. Though this has many of their hits from 1971 to 1989 (not 1993 as the title says) there are still many hits missing. This is one single disc CD that should have been a 2 disc set.

5How come they sound so good? Cuz its the STONES, that's why!  Jan 08, 2007
JUMP BACK * THE BEST OF THE ROLLING STONES has tracks that span the years 1971 to 1989. Taken direct from masters, and using what was then the latest technology (20 bit), sound quality of these 18 tunes is excellent. Included is a nicely illustrated 12-page booklet, that has comments about each song by band members-- the sort of details fans and trivia buffs go for. Some examples: "Brown Sugar" was written by Mick while he was filming NED KELLY in Australia, the demo of "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll (But I Like It)" featured Jagger and David Bowie, "Undercover Of The Night" was inspired by a William Borroughs novel called CITIES OF THE RED NIGHT, and so on.

JUMP BACK is a solid collection of later-career Rolling Stones tracks, recorded while they were still at the top of their game.
