A Guitar Hero Aug 15, 2010 This record should be listen by anyone who doesn't know Joe Perry's talent with or without Aerosmith. Everytime I play it people just start enjoying it and dancing like in the past decades with the rock hits. It's a fun record with true hard rock riffs, lyrics, and (most of all) an expression of Perry as a guitarist. In the end, after played, when there is nothing but silence, one realizes that this man is actually one of the best at what he does. A TRUE GUITAR HERO. For all Joe Perry fans, Aerosmith fans, and everybody who loves R&R!
Besides, this is a double material, a dual disc wich includes a dvd with footage of the recording process and little stories and comments. GREAT!

A ton of guitar Sep 11, 2007 I'm trying to figure out how anyone is giving this cd less than 4 stars. Maybe it's Joe's voice - not the strongest in the world. But the songs are all catchy and 'The Crystal Ship' works perfectly with his voice. Incredible version of that particular song.
If you are a fan of Perry's earlier solo work you'll like this too.

Meat and Potatoes Rock 'N Roll! Jul 18, 2006 I bought this the day it came out and I found I listened to it alot during the summer of 2005. Its great for anytime of day, and Joe's sincerity really comes through in his music and the great DVD side which is a 45 minute tour of Joe and his studio, guitars and travels.

Just The Best! May 22, 2006 No one rocks the guitar like Joe Perry but you can hear all that on Aerosmith CDs. What's great about this solo effort is hearing how sexy his voice is. Joe's cover of "Crystal Ship" is way more seductive than Jim Morrison's.
The whole CD sounds like a love song to his wife Billie but it's not made up of wimpy ballads. It's hard and fast and lots of fun. I'd love to hear him solo live.

Over-rated Mar 14, 2006 Joe Perry is the most over-rated guitar player in rock music. I highly suggest that if you want to listen to some better guitar work then check out Joe Satrini, Wayne Krantiz, Jimi Hendrix, or Stevie Ray Vaughn as they are much better then Mr. Perry. There are some cool blusey tunes on this album, but most of it is just filler material and cheezy guitar hot licking that is way over-rated!
