Melodic Death Metal Mayhem Jul 26, 2007 I first heard This Ending off of Music Choice's Metal channel. The song was Inside the Machine. Wow. What a song and what a release. The production is solid as hell, the mix is just right. There is a good amount of melody with a good amount of all out riffing and bass blasts from the drummer.
All of the songs, and I mean all, are absolute highlights. You'd be hard pressed to pick one song over another here, but those would be: Seed of Destruction, Inside the Machine, and Plague Angel.
Just like I've said in other reviews, my favorite death metal bands are the ones that have decipherable death vocals instead of the ones that you have to look up the lyrics just to get a general idea of what they are saying....the difference between great death metal and good death metal is in the vocals. Discernable is the best in my opinion and This Ending do it well. The lyrics aren't deep or really that meaningful, but the words match up well with the music playing with it....for example in Seed of Destruction he shouts, "I am your master, I am above and beyond you, I am your master, I am the Seed of Destruction. Imagine this put to some brutal riffs, brutal blasts, and brutal yet discernable vocals and you have yourselves a hell of a release folks!
Pick this one up if you enjoy stuff like Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, In Flames, and other melodic metal that has an industrial tinged sound.
As of today they are already working on another album, can't wait! 9/10!
Grade-A Jun 20, 2007 This Ending is by far one of the darkest melodic death metal bands that I have ever heard and is undeniably awesome...
Inside the Machine is Grade-A material...
Not Everything I expected, but it's great May 11, 2007 I found out about this album from an Amon Amarth bulletin. They're good really good for some songs. There's like a grunting rap that goes on for a few seconds in Seed of Destruction I didn't particularly like. I'd recommend it for fans of Melodic Death metal. I also Suggest some Amon Amarth, and Dark Tranquillity to go along with this album. It's best served as a filler when you get bored. If you want to take a look at this, pick it up now, before they release a music video and all the Goth kids pick them up and start parading around with This Ending shirts on.

This Ending will not let you down Feb 05, 2007 it's hard to believe that this band started in 1991. that makes them veterans in their country. this is very good melodic death metal. if you want more melodeath, I suggest Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Fragments Of Unbecoming, the now-defunct Gates Of Ishtar, and the now-defunct At The Gates.
