Order was cancelled by Vendor Jul 09, 2009 I did NOT receive the CD ordered because it was cancelled by the vendor. Kinda Bummed. I was looking forward to getting that CD. But my money was credited back to my account - pronto. Very quick response and messaging from vendor that they were unable to send the music.

Not Remastered May 16, 2009 Just a note of warning... this CD was issued in 2000, but has NOT been remastered. I don't know where Amazon got the idea that this 2000 reissue was remastered, but it was not. The sound quality is exactly the same as the same cd that was issued back in 1989. The only difference is that this 2000 reissue adds two more songs and increases the volume a little bit. Don't fool yourself into thinking that this 2000 version might sound a little better... cause it doesn't.
Great album! May 04, 2009 I really like this duo. There pretty talented, and they remind me alot of melissa etheridge and K.D. lang. Which I love both. This duo does a great job of making upbeat rock music with a bit of blues mixed. I really love the passion put into this album. My favorite tracks were prince of darkness and blood of fire(i think that's what it was called). ANyway, this group is has gotten some great recognition and they deserve everybit of it. If any body loves Simon and Garfunkel and doesn't mind alittle bit of Melissa Etherirdge thrown in then you should def. buy this album.
Truly Classic Albums Get Better With Age Mar 25, 2009 Like so many Gen-X folk, I could easily write a review of this disc with comments like "I remember angsty nights in the dorm spent listening to this album" or telling you that "on the way to a first date with the man who became the most important relationship of my 20s decade, I was on an empty BART train and between Lafayette and Walnut Creek I started singing Blood And Fire as loudly as I could." Both of those are true stories, yes.
But what amazes me, now that it's been -- gulp -- over 20 years since I first heard this disc, is that its music is still fresh, crisp, and perfect.
Perhaps that's the highest compliment for whatever genre one wants to place this album into. I for one would file this album proudly next to such titles as Dark Side Of The Moon [Pink Floyd], The Hounds Of Love [Kate Bush], perhaps even Purple Rain or The Black Album [Prince], etc., as one of the finest works of musical art ever produced. It really is that good.
But, honestly, this album is "one for all times" for a different and more profound reason. I am a musician and, for me, the core requirement I lay at the feet of "great albums" is not that they are perfectly produced -- although I must say that this disc comes closer to production perfection than most. No, what makes me rate an album as one of the best ever is simple: when I listen to it, I want to be a better musician. I learned to "see" discordant chromatic harmony from Amy & Emily's masterful working of "my place is of the sun, this place is of the dark" within the song Prince Of Darkness. If I can ever perform with half the raw musical talent that these ladies possess, then I will die happy.
In short, buy this album. If you already have it, dust it off and listen to it again. And again. And again. Do not be a pawn for the Prince Of Darkness, any longer.

I Haven't.. Feb 17, 2009 heard the girls in awhile. This is my favorite with "Secure Yourself" and all.Ranks with "Hand Me Downs" and "World Falls" off of Indigo Girls/Strange Fire/Nomads, Indians, Saints or Nomads Indians Saints. I had to list both of these because you may as well get the three cd packaGe. Trippy folkie stuff off of later cd's I don't get you know? Mandolins and stuff.Stick with the folk I say although I haven't heard albums like "Rites of Passage" in years. Come on Now Social was good..
