Strong Album and a Good listen Jul 09, 2009 Okay I have always thought that Jessica could sing. Sometimes it's a little over done, but she does have the vocal chops to sing a lot better then most. I feel she could find better production to make her stuff more mainstream. But enough of that on with the album reviews.
I first saw this album in my best friend's cd collection. I had to listen to it since it was a free listen. I really enjoyed it a lot. She sounds strong and the songs are well produced. They sound less poppy and more mature. You can tell she really puts herself into these songs. Her voice really shines on the songs like I Have Loved You, Underneath, Don't Have to Let Go(This is one of my FAVS!!!!) and My Way Home. The album is filled with a lot of slower stuff. So if you are in the mood to just relax, it`s best for that.
My personal favorite is Everyday See You. It has a very refreshing feel to it. Her voice sounds so sweet and you can tell she is having a great time thinking about whoever this great guy is.It's Nick at this point obviously.) The great thing about this album I feel is she shows that her music is all about 2 things. One which is showing her vocals are to reckon with and 2 she is deeply delved into the messages in her songs and truly feels them with each word uttered.
This is a solid album for anyone who loves ballads and slower numbers. Grab it. I feel this is her best work. Public Affair is more upbeat but I don't think it beats this album. These songs are well produced, and I believe they will stand the test of time. I was just listening to her album yesterday and it doesn't sound dated at all.
Terrible Nov 13, 2008 This is one of the lousiest cd's I have ever listened to.This awful woman cant sing to even save her own life and is as bad as Britney Spears.all the songs are filler.Avoid this and get Metallica's latest album instead.

A true pop visionary! Nov 10, 2008 The Beach Boys? The Beatles? Yeah, they both suck. "Aaron's Party" b Aaron Carter and "In This Skin" by Jessica Simpson are among the best pop albums ever created. You heard me. "Pet Sounds" and "Abbey Road" are, frankly, crapola. Oh, and Jessica looks sexy on the cover!

Probably the one of her BEST!!!!! May 05, 2008 Im not gonna go into full detail about this album. But it is one of the best out of the 4 she has released so far. Thank goodness for the re-release because the 1st person i spoke to about this album was disappointed. So i decided to hold off but when i saw that she was doing a remake to "Take My Breath Away" and "Angel", that was all i needed. Jessica Simpson is talented and has an amazing voice to the likes of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. However she just doesn't know what to do with it. She works with the wrong people & she really needs a mainstream producer to PUT her VOICE on the MAP & Utilize it to the best of her ability. As stated this was one of her better releases and my favorite song was "I Have Loved You" she never released or made a video for =(

Ballad-heavy, and much more Enticing than I first believed... Nov 04, 2007 Let me start out, By saying that this chick is a blond bombshell, who is so hot, She could charm Her way into my Life even though I'm into Guys!!
She's lovely, maintains a "Sweet, girl next door" aura, and "Wishes She could save the world like She was Super Girl." Hehe.
Just check out the song, "With You", a wonderful love song, that celebrates, being comfortable with one's self - one's own being, and loving every drop - every morsel that your omnipresent Lover decides to devote to you.
I love most of these songs, Hence the 3.7/5 stars rating, I'm awarding this release. It's not stellar, but the sweet, yet quite powerful vocals is the forward and background of the Music and production and that's fairly important.
Standout tracks, mostly pop ballads are:
Everyday See You
With You
Take My Breath Away
With You (Acoustic version)
Underneath
The only thing this chick should consider, is trying to become a singer-songwriter. Even if her lyrics are trite, and elementary that's OK because numerous amounts of pop singers these days write trite, empty, and meaningless "songs" these Days...!
You don't know how much respect I'd gain for Her If she decided to take matters into the palm of Her own hands and sat down to write some love songs on Her very own or even if She decided to collaborate with someone who would take initiative steers the ship and is the head Songwriter.
I would melt inside if she took over and wrote something. I think it'd be wicked cool if Her and Ashlee penned a couple of catchy pop songs for All to devour! They could even get together to materialize a "love-that-you're-gone" song, that happily dismisses Nick Lachey her ex-Husband.
*NOTABLE UPDATE* Just in: Jessica Simpson successfully co-wrote some of these tracks. I'm in Awe to be perfectly honest. But I love it. It just shows how multi-talented She is. And I'm sure that She laughs all the way to the bank! Go, Jess!! Stay sweet and don't let this crazy world change You!!!!!
