I bought this album the day it came out. I was always a Beyonce fan and I am interested in all her songs and albums.She has beautiful voice and amazing range. I like the first disc but not from the first listen. It had to grow on me. My favorites from the first disc are "Disappear" and "That's Why You're Beautiful". The second disc had me dancing all over the place and it was more exciting. My favorites are "Sweet Dreams", "Ego," "Single Ladies" and "Diva".I think I like Sasha Fierce better. The Beyonce disc gets kind of boring.I know Beyonce is probably not a boring person but I think she could've spice the Beyonce disc up. She should've added more up-tempo songs to it. Yet I don't really see a day and night difference between Beyonce and Sasha. All her albums sound like Sasha and Beyonce. I don't see how she took a creative risk. All and all I think it is a good album. It deserves a listen. It has nice balladry,fun melodies and quiet yet explosive energy.

I use the "If I were a boy" song to kick off my feminist class (I teach high school) . you have to grab young people and this works! the Beyonce' part is vulnerability and softness,etc...The Sasha Fierce songs from "Single Ladies" to "Diva" etc. are strong and wild...it is a really enjoyable album and I am 60+

I don't understand why with her past 2 albums she has issued and re-issued deluxe versions of her material. Why? i don't understand, it's so annoying!
This is by far is her worst album. There are a lot of oustanding songs on here. but it drools heavily with filler.
My Top 5
1. Halo
2. Diva
3. Ave Maria
4. Ego
5. If I Were A Boy
There are a couple other good songs. but what i mentioned above is the only exceptional material she gave us for this installment of her perpetual "i wanna take your money scheme"
Maybe next time, we'll get our money's worth, and she'll quit toying with us, because i don't want to keep buying the same material for 3 new songs or whatever new album cover.

to be honest with you this is the first album i have bought from beyonce. i bought Destiny's Child Greatest hits and that was a fine purchase. the reason i purchased this particular album from her is i really enjoyed the singles she has released from this album. i have enjoyed other singles she has released from previous albums but i did not purchase those. besides the singles, the rest of the album is also a great listen! ! ! beyonce has a wonderful voice and i hope she keeps putting out great albums like this one.

I lovve Beyonce and her first two singles were off this album were great. However, I wasn't as impressed with any of the others on the album.
