 5 stars OMG who new Brandy Could be this GREAT Oct 22, 2009
I loved Brandy since Never Say Never, but after that hadn't heard much of her other than radio songs. I bought this CD recently and it rocks. She has added an electro-dance floor sound to some of her songs that really works for her, and her r& b stuff is great as it ever has been if not better. I'm a personal fan of Never Say Never for songs like "Tomorrow" and "Everything I do... I do It For You" and this CD is chock Full of those!!! Listen to: "The Definition", "Human", "Piano Man", "Camouflage", "Fall", and "Right Here"... all phenominal!!! Check out the new Mariah and Whitney CDs of 2009 as well they are all wonderful R&B additions and will soon be pop-legendary.

Love-Filled & Delivered From The Heart! Sep 28, 2009
This is the Japanese 20-track version of the much anticipated album titled, "Human". As time has elapsed since Brandy's last album, "It was well worth the wait"! The laid back R&B music along vocals and messages are extraordinary and on the lines of more to come! The extra 5 bonus tracks are a much boost to bring uplifting beats, some rap, and much happy attitudes! The lyrical booklet has the words to all the songs including the bonus tracks. This is Brandy singing from the heart, pouring her love and spreading her life-lessons!
The bonus tracks--"Gonna Find Love" (3:30), and "Locket (Locked In Love)" (3:45) are both about the beauty of falling in love. The first bringing on the vibe that the "one" is coming by soon and the latter about being locked in love as she sings, "My hearts bleeding/So free me/Won't you set me free...". "Right Here Feat. Sean Kingston" (3:40) is similar to the 4th track but has extra interjections by the featured artist Sean Kingston bringing a more hip-hop edge barely noticeable to the ear but quite enhancing for the intro. and background raps that are very energetic and dramatic."Right Here (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)" (3:31) has fast forward speeds, swirls of trance and rapid singing unlike the original. The entire song is brought to a 180 change as the dancing vibe takes the center stage. For lovers of long mixes then the last bonus track titled, "Right Here (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Club Mix)" (8:50) will definitely be to your satisfaction. This has added instrumentation not on the previous or original thus bringing on the club anthems to a much more pronounced state comparable to watching dancers on a club on a platform extravagantly moving with exotic outfits creating much shock. The beats are more thumpin' with bass, synthesizers, and echoes along repetitive beats very infectious for sure! It's definitely bangin', beating heavy in drums and pounding with disco type flashes!
The music is great, the vocals are excellent, and the combo plus bonus tracks are all fabulous. But the true beauty is in its class, elegance, and lyrical depth bringing messages to her listeners that are relatable, positive, hopeful, and definitely inspiring at times or just down-heart felt! As her intro states, "What I feel, being a human being is... Is just ... Having the freedom to be yourself/Not caring what other people think/Just, having that freedom...to be you... and not being afraid." Brandy cares to deliver her very best both vocally, and message wise! This is an excellent album sure to stand the test of time as being classic, and timeless!

I'm a long time Brandy fan having watched her grow up both in the music and acting fields. She has a unique & distinctive voice and does not try to sing like everybody else which is why I continue to support her albums.
I was saddened by the way that her last album AFRODISIAC was received - I thought it was great and still have it on constant repeat and unfortunately HUMAN had the same reception. Personally I feel that a lot of resistance to Brandy's work now stems from events in her personal life as opposed to the music that she's offering (to be specific, a lot of people can't get over the pregnancy & subsequent false marriage so people seem to be a lot harder on her than warranted).
I've had HUMAN since it was released and honestly I've had to listen to it over time and have it grow on me unlike with her previous releases. The tracks I really enjoy are:

A CAPELLA
This is a good album that unfortunately I think more people will discover over time and give Brandy props for, much like with AFRODISIAC.
Not Quite What I Expected.... Aug 01, 2009
This is probably the Brandy CD I like best... aside from Afrodisiac. But they are different enough it's hard to compare them. The first time I listened to it, I didn't like it and it was shelved for a few weeks. Then I heard a friend play Piano Man and I went to listen again. And I loved it. That's the problem with expecting a certain kind of CD. No, this isn't Afrodisiac, but it is great in it's own right. I love the songs on here. Piano Man is really cool, Long Distance is a beautiful ballad, A Capella (Something's Missing) is different and I like it, 1rst and Love is really good, and the title track is amazing. The only song I really don't care for is Right Here (Departed) but the video was cool. Brandy grew up with Afrodisiac, she became an adult with Human.
Best Album Ever! Jul 25, 2009
This is simply the best collection of music I've heard, ever. This is my favorite album of all time, so far in my life. The music is angelic and definitely worth buying and sharing with friends.
