Found CD Jan 24, 2010 My son wanted this CD for Christmas but I could not find it in stores. I was relieved to find it on line. Fast efficient service.
I thought it was amazing Jun 24, 2009 From the title track, "For The Love Of The Game" jumps out at any true Pillar fan. The sound is a bit more rough-cut than other Pillar albums, making it unique. It presents a call to those willing to stand for Christ, the unafraid and unashamed, to remain so. "Reckless Youth", one of my favorite tracks, gives a new view of the younger generation: unafraid to stand for Christ, not concerned about stereotypes, but devoted and sold out to the callings on their lives. Then there's "Throwdown", a personal challenge to the forces of darkness, going toe to toe with your demons. Continuing in the fight theme, Pillar unleashes "Get Back" an admonishment to Christians on the ropes that we must continue the fight of faith, and "get back on the strings". Pillar also presents a call to the fearful with "The Runaway", a loaded track that admonishes staying in the presence of God. If you're looking for a more mellow side to the album, there's always "Smiling Down", a song that reminds that God and our loved ones who have gone to be with him are forever smiling down on us, even when we want to compromise or give up. It is certainly worth a listen or two.
The Truth Stays Strong as Pillar Rocks On!!!! May 29, 2009 A must have for any Pillar fan, every song is amazing, there are no fillars, don't listen to any other review telling you otherwise, if you don't get this album you will regret it! (Despite that, the best ones are For the Love of the Game, Reckless Youth, State of Emergency, and Smiling Down, in case you're interested.) Amazing hard rock with everything there and above all a lifting and inspiring message in every song as Pillar continues to fight for the truth in Christ. You can not pass this one up!
Game time with God! Apr 16, 2009 This has to be one of the best CD's I have purchased in a while. I think the music on here is very uplifting and still has that rock ability to it.
I go to church with Pillar and it is amazing to know them as Christian people too. They are by far one of my most favorite Alternative Christian music groups, and I would recommend this to people of all ages!
Reminds me of Story of the Year Feb 23, 2009 I like the energy the band displays here, similar to SOTY's first two albums which were so good when I first heard them. Hard to fall asleep to Pillar so it makes good driving music.
