Rapid 'WATER Loss', Processed Foods, Not for Short Persons Nov 22, 2009 If you want this book get it from your local library. I'm glad I didn't pay to read it.
I'm all for eating MUFA's at every meal, but totally against eating so much processed foods, and having to cook all your foods - even your vegetables. This diet will cause weight GAIN in persons who are short or who have slow metabolisms. And, you are eating less nutritionally healthy than necessary. NO DIET SHOULD REQUIRE YOU TO BUY SPECIALIZED FOODS THAT YOU CAN'T FIND IN YOUR LOCAL GROCER. There is all kinds of healthy foods in your supermarket. Just shop mostly the perimeter of the store, and avoid most processed foods. This diet does not allow for different size portions for short persons versus tall, high metabolisms versus low, sedentary versus active.
It isn't really weight loss if it is mostly water loss, or weighing less cause you have less substance to your poo, or looking thinner cause you don't chew gum. A diet shouldn't be about ONLY looking thinner - it should be about actual fat loss, and health. It is not healthy to give up a lot of foods that are healthy so that your belly 'looks' thinner. It is not healthy to cook the nutrients out of food. This diet plan really makes me have second thoughts about 'health' recommendations from Prevention!
If you want a diet that allows MUFA's, has healthy unprocessed foods, allows you to vary the portions depending on your needs, is easy to find the foods at your local grocer etc. - look into the Low-Glycemic Diet. With this diet you can eat very healthy foods, natural foods, even YES, uncooked foods, in the amounts (large or small) that you need. You will lose excess water weight, but more importantly you will lose fat and gain health. With the Glycemic-Index diet you will not only look good, it is the best thing you can do for your health.
very helpful Nov 21, 2009 I've tried other diets and was very hard to stick with it. I started this and in two days with the jump start I could tell a difference in how my clothes fit me. I'm just beginning this diet but I feel it will be different than the others.

Love this book! Nov 15, 2009 Ordered a used book and it was in great condition.
The content of the book was so enlightening.
I have only lost 5 pounds, but love the nutrional information
I learned and helped me change my eating habits.
In 2 weeks my IBS has improved tremendously!
No more fiber supplements.
I always thought nuts and cheeses were not good for IBS,
but the combination of MUFA's and other foods has been a great help!
Thanks!Flat Belly Diet!

complicated Nov 10, 2009 I thought this would be an easy diet to follow, but I have never heard of most of the recommended brands of food. It says to try to not use other brands, so I decided to not even start it.
