An excellent representative of a phenominal album. . . Aug 30, 1999
I saw Paddy Casey at "Dave Murphy and Friends" music session at the International Bar for the first time the winter of 1997/1998. He was one of the most exciting things about Dublin- he keeps getting better. . . This single is great for several reasons: First, you get a taste of the album with the studio version of "Everybody Wants" (the full LP is impossible to categorize into one genre of music. . .you will understand what I mean when you hear it). Then you get to experience Paddy Casey accompanied by only his guitar. The live tracks, "Everybody Wants" and "Wings", are the kind of tunes that put you in another place. I have to admit that nothing can replace his live show (this is far from true with most performers), but this single is sure to gain the attention of music lovers everywhere. The studio version of "Everybody Wants" is superb, but I am sure you will agree that this young musician's magic is in the live work included on this single. Keep an eye out for the full LP, "Amen (and so be it)" and support this amazing singer-songwriter. I have a strong feeling that this is only the beginning of an impressive career. . . Cheers.
