"YOU AINT FAT!... YOU AIN'T NOTHIN!!!" Jul 27, 2009 In honor of Michael Jacksons last days I have decided to have a Weird Al parody party. After all, to me, Michael Jackson really was nothing more than a spring board for a good Weird Al parody anyway, so instead of forcing myself to listen to all sorts of MJ drivel, I'm gonna rock out to some of Weird Als most brilliant eighties material. Starting of course with his answer to Michael Jacksons '87 Bad album, entitled fittingly "Even Worse."
The FAT video was pure brilliance, and I think spawned into Als movie deal a year or so down the road. While this may not have been out and out Weird Als best album, the single alone certainly was enough to encourage me and other kids in my town to stuff pillows in our shirts, and jump around our living rooms screaming "Who's Fat!?" and constantly see who could out do each others fatness.
Other parodies on the album seem to point to the fact that there wasn't much else happening in the pop world, forcing Al to parody songs that were twenty years past their prime, like the La Bamba parody Lasagna. However he does get at George Harrison, with THIS SONG IS JUST SIX WORDS LONG, (it's gonna take words... a whole lot of rhymin'words, to do it right) a fine example of some of ALs best on the spot cleverness. This bit has some interesting originals on it too, but he wsn't quite as hot as he was on IN 3-D or where he would be by the time he reached his climax with his string of nineties smashes... still funny though.
In honor of the late Michael Jackson, a word on "Fat" Jul 09, 2009 This reviewer should probably be writing up the whole MJ catalogue--but until I do...
"Fat" may be the most brilliant parody I've ever heard--and this is from someone who's a big fan of the original Bad. Dig the killer visual punch of the cover (and the video, if you've got it). Food is one of Weird Al's great obsessions (My Bologna, Lasagna, and so forth), and one might now argue that it was one of the late MJ's also. Al doesn't miss a trick with this song because he just loves it: he makes clever substitutions (huge for smooth, feed my face instead of slap my face, and of course, ham on), he punctuates the entire song with Michael's *gasp* trademark, literally every four beats so he's sampling like a rap dj, and he uses the tension and drama of the tune and its arrangement to up the humor quotient:
Well, I've never used a phone booth,
And I've never seen my toes,
When I'm goin' to the movies,
I TAKE UP SEVEN ROWS BECAUSE
I'M FAT! I'M FAT! (really really fat)
This work of derangement and love is worth the price of admission. Four-star album, ten-star song.
Even Funnier stuff Oct 06, 2007 Even worse is some funny stuff. He pushes the limits with the parodies and his outfit for the cover. I personality will own his whole collection sooner or later. For those who love a good spin off of songs, buy his albums and be prepared to laugh so hard bust a gut at times. Thanks and enjoy his music.
laugh Jan 18, 2007 Great CD haa I have always loved Weird Al and this is the best place to buy new CD's and DVD's because it's cheaper than having a middle man to buy through.

The magic returns. Oct 19, 2006 "Weird Al" Yankovic's fifth album was "Even Worse". That's not a description of the album's quality, the title (and album cover) is a parody of Michael Jackson's Bad album. If Michael is "Bad", Al is "Even Worse", get it? This was one of Al's best selling albums, mostly due to the popularity of "Fat", a parody of Michael Jackson's hit "Bad". The album features five song parodies, five original songs and a rap version of the "Twister" commercial jingle (spin the spinner, call the shot, Twister ties you up in a knot). There is no polka medley of recent hit songs, which have been most of Al's albums. Most of the songs are very funny. If you like Al, you'll like this.
