I fell in love with Recuerdos de la Alhambra from another CD I own and wanted more music along the same lines. This 2 disc set more than met my expectations.

This CD is truly a delight for those who love the classical guitar. It offers the immensely beautiful Rodrigo guitar concerto as well as music from the Spanish guitar masters, to flamenco, to transcriptions from the Baroque. It has tremendous versatility, demonstrating the unique properties of guitar in different musical settings.
Great CD May 12, 2009
If you like Classical Music and Guitar these CD's are for you. They have a good mix of tunes of other instruments with guitar and pieces with just guitar. This set is good background music too.
Essential Guitar: 33 Guitar Masterpieces May 04, 2009
For those who love acoustic guitar music AND classical music - Pedro Romero is at his best here. My uncle took me to a classical guitar concert when I was a teenager. The Romero family was playing and I fell in love. This recording takes me back to that night and I remember again the three standing ovations and the wonderful music, much of which I was hearing for the first time in my life.

I saw the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and was entranced by the Flemenco guitar songs. Shopping on Amazon, I bought this. It is a great value and volume of music, and includes classical works. However, Woody Allen did a great job selecting music for that movie, so while there are only 12 songs on the soundtrack, the vast majority of his flamenco tunes are superior to those here. My rating of 4 stars reflects the good price/value ratio of this CD, otherwise it would be a 3.
