The Stoners' Anthem Sep 23, 2009 I have been a fan of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon since I smoked my first joint in 1975. This album was on Billboard's Top 100 for YEARS and is widely known as the "going up" album of choice. Put the needle on the record and light that bong please.
Many people out there probably have questioned, "What nerve these Easy Star All Stars have to tamper with a classic?" It's a legitimate question except for this album is fantastic. I just love their brilliant dub reggae twist. The standouts for me are "Time" and "Great Gig in the Sky." In fact, I enjoy the whole album without the help of rastamon's favorite plant.
For those who love The Floyd and also dub reggae, this album is highly recommended.
Siouxie, The Bronx
Top reggae version selection of a Rock classic Aug 29, 2009 I would recommend this item for it is an interpretation of a classic rock n' roll album
Sit back and enjoy the vibe
Awsome! Aug 21, 2009 Well...this is a totally awsome interpretation of Floyd!!!! I have so much reggae and dub...and this is a current fave besides Lonely Dub Hearts Band. Well we tried to synch this up with Wizard of Oz after some adult inhalents. It did not work well....so we just jammed anyway...hahahah...and still watched Oz with Dub Side of the Moon. If you can inform us where to synch it...cool.
Joking aside...this album rocks...and jams and dubs you in the side of your head.....PLAY LOUD!!!!!!!!.....ENJOY!!!!!!
Stands On Its Own Jun 06, 2009 I sometimes like to read the negative reviews before I review a CD. Most involve not tampering with perfection. I don't agree that any artist is above covering.
What Easy Star All Stars have done with The Floyd's classic is truely impressive and very entertaining. It's obvious that these guys studied this album inside and out. The Dub Side Of The Moon stands on it's own.
Now that they've done Radiohead and Sgt. Pepper's how about Who's Next or Houses Of The Holy (forget Dread Zeppelin)?
I can't wait.

Inna Reggae Style.. Apr 02, 2009 The All Stars take Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon & flips it, in a reggae style. The Stars do not merely duplicate the classic, but makes an original intrepretation that stands on its own.
However, it plays even better if you're familiar with the original record; interestingly Floyd's Dark Side lends itself to easy transition from Brit-Soul to Reggae rhythms. Enjoy Both!
