A very good saga and battle Feb 21, 2010 Before you read any further I would like you to know that I am a big fan of the Dragon Ball series, I like all of it. In fact I really don't like any other anime but this one. I am very much a nerd with it. But I am truthful and unbiased in what I have to say good or bad.
When I was a kid I saw everything in Dragon Ball Z except this particular saga. Fate just rigged it to where I did not see it on TV or on tape at the time. I knew what happened but never had actually seen it. I bought this on amazon earlier this year and saw the Cell games in its entirety for the first time.
I was surprised in a lot of different ways. For one I did not realize how one-sided the fight between the Z warriors and Cell was. Cell is basically all powerful and the only ones who stand a chance are Goku and Gohan. So do not think you will be seeing any type of tournament as the "Cell Games" title suggests he only really fights two people the whole time but it is suspenseful and a very passionate battle. I was really surprised at how doomed the whole situation was for our heroes and how much went on in the saga.
Before you get to the Cell Games part there are some episodes that show a different side to DBZ where we see our heroes basically chilling out before the big event which was cool to see. When they get to the tournament and get the real fighting underway however the suspense grabs you, shakes you and at some points make you feel like are heroes are going to lose. So that was a bonus I know what happens and I was still like "Are these guys going to die?"
This saga does pull out every possible twist and turn so be prepared to be like "What?!" and "Is that possible... even for Dragon Ball Z?!" It had a lot of those moments.
To balance out the bleak seriousness of the situation there is the world champion Hercule and his disciples who desperately try to convey the awesome sight they are seeing at the tournament to the watching world. Hercule does get old calling everything a trick and saying he could do the same thing even though these guys are flying and shooting energy out of their hands but he is humorous.
That is basically what happens in Season Six.
Time has been good to Dragon Ball Z considering this was first made in the early 90's and still looks well animated. It isn't perfect but still looks good.
It was entertaining and if you are collecting the show a must buy. It is at a very good price and is one of the sets that
has "Newly revised" English Dialogue, so get used to Hercule being called Mr. Satan. It is also remastered in High definition and digitally remastered so it looks and sounds better than it ever has. It also comes with the same English voice talent as the other sets; U.S. broadcast music, original Japanese music and dialogue, and has Japanese subtitles in English. It also has part of a larger picture when the sleeve is removed and put next to the other sets.
I have no idea why people are wasting their money on the Dragon Boxes when you can get it cheaper and with better options on the orange box sets. Seriously, both are on the same format you get basically the same picture the only difference is the Dragon Box includes episode previews and strips out the U.S. broadcast music. By the time the Dragon Box comes out for the Cell Games you will have to pay fifty to sixty dollars for something that is already out in the same quality at a lower price. Who wants to pay that much for no U.S. broadcast music and episode previews. Are the episode previews really that important? Don't let anyone tell you the Dragon Boxes are better because they are not.

Dragonball Z-Season Six Jan 30, 2010 The dvd is excellent but the only problem is that they changed the music from the original version and that is what makes is a mess. Other than that I would give it five stars but with the change of the audio it throws the whole thing off.
Season 6 Review (NO SPOILER!!!!) Jan 01, 2010 This is a great season!
Here are some nonspoiler thing that will go on in this season!
Is he now a good guy?
Wow, what power!
Get out the way!
No....don't go!!!!
Hurry, destroy him!!
Go Trunks!!
Can Goku really beat him!?
Haha, that's all I can say to make you hyper, unless you want spoilers....However, some of DB/Z/GT believe in Evolution (like the myth of humans evolving from monkeys) that is my only disagreement since evolution is not true! God made everything according to its kind.
-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!
Goku is the one who always leads everyone the correct way, He is the savior of the world! (Symbolic to God leading us the right way & being our Savior!)
Goku trains & helps his friends to become good fighters (Symbolic to God "training" us in His Word)
Goku trusts in his friends knowing they will do the right thing. (Symbolic to God trusting that His true followers will obey Him & go His way)
Goku always shows love & mercy even to his enemies & evil people. (Symbolic to God showing all us people, whom have broken His Perfect Law -The Ten Commandments- and yet He still gives us Mercy to flee from sin & follow Him)
Goku believes anyone can change their life from bad, to good. (Symbolic to fleeing from our sins & following the Will of God)
Goku was like a father, always protecting people from evil (Symbolic to how God protects us from evil & when the storms comes, He's still with us)
Everytime it seems hopeless & like evil will prevail & there is no way out, Goku is always there to help! (Symbolic to no matter how strong the temptation or urge is, God always provides a way out for us because He is with us)
When the Saiyans or other fighters feel like there is no hope, they go into a new level of strength (Symbolic to when you are weakest you are strongest)
Like with us when we feel we can't resist the temptation or do the Will of God, we still press on and reach a new level or strength.....haha, like a Spiritual Super Saiyan, being much stronger into & with God then we were before.
When the fighters are fighting & they feel there is no hope, someone else usually comes to the aid (Symbolic to God will never leave us & He always provides help)
DBZ is not only a great show but I look at it through a Christian sense, look at it as a Christian sense, it's symbolic, it'll make it 10x better! I know it did for me!
Cell Games Saga Dec 28, 2009 Season six help me understand Gohan's powers a bit better. i think after watching it three times one can't miss all these little things that i had missed before.
i think it's one of the best yet, filled with so much action. A definate collectors items.
need I say more Dec 13, 2009 I think putting these episodes into one season at an affordable price was unbeatable. Being that it,s Dragon Ball Z makes it a no brainer. If your a fan than I bet you, just like me, were paying 10 dollars for three episodes. On VHS! These boxed SEASON cd,s are... need I say more?
