I'm not following how this CD rates 5 stars on any level sorry. I love Me'Shell as much as anyone, but this CD has too many flaws for me to list. I feel like people are judging her past work and incorporating their feelings into their ratings for this CD. I love Me'Shell but not this disc, even the sound quality of the recording is terrible. People will buy this Cd without previewing just because it's Me'Shell and we all turn into feigns waiting for her next release. I would have rather waited then spend money on a CD that lacks the quality that I am a custom to from an artist that is this talented.

See artists come and sometimes go too soon due to lack of consistency but then you get the likes of Meshell, Erykah, etc. Then you wonder how they always rise while others encounter difficulties. See Meshell in this regard is always high up there with every one of her releases. i love her style - it's constantly growing all the time, i honestly don't believe i have to listen to her album samples anymore- i just got to buy her cd without reviewing it. that is how excellent she is.

i really love mechelle's music...it's got movement and feeling...it's so much more than just soul or funk or jazz or rock but all of these mashed up together creating a sound that is a caress to your ears.....and electric charge to your spirit...and thoughts to your mind...

I pre-ordered this CD however, after to listening to it I would have paid full price and more. I don't care what anyone has to say, Meshell really created an art of work. The sound, the music can be played almost anywhere. After a long day of work the only thing I want to do is relax, breathe and let go....Devil's Halo has allowed me to do that.

It seems by the reviews I read some seem to think the words matter. The words may matter at a time when life is so unsure but,the music is too d... slow. I didn't like the way it made me feel. It seem the person was too sad.
Did life's experience drain its energy out of you? Too much thinking can leave you stuck in a event in your life.
What's positive about this CD?
Where is the energy?
Where is the happy song?
It reminds me of another sad CD she put out.
The music had no soul other than the one living in dispair.
If this music helped someone good. If it didn't find another CD.
For all the depress people in the world this is not the CD for you.
