In the Afterlife... Nov 22, 2009 Dead Like Me was a surefire hit. One of Showtime's highest rated shows, Dead Like Me was a show that you could watch over and over again. Following the afterlives of George (Ellen Muth) and her colleagues Rube (Mandy Patinkin), Mason (Callum Blue), Roxy (Jasmine Guy), and Daisy (Laura Harris) Dead Like Me is hilarious, quirky, and simply entertaining. But Dead Like Me is just about the people who died but the people they left behind. The show also follows George's family Joy (The mom of the family) and Reggie (The ignored little sister) and Clancy (The cheating dad). In this brilliant show we watch George grow up in the afterlife. This show proves that life after death is no longer an oxymoron!
Love this series Nov 11, 2009 Havent had time to give kudos but shipping was super quick and loooove the dead like me series dont know why it was canceled.. hope they bring back someday I love all the characters... funny.. smart .. love Georgia :)
Way too short-lived; movie did not do series justice Nov 07, 2009 Great series; rented the DVD first season and loved it. Bought the boxed set and loved the series even more. Great humor--mixed with a delightfully dark side. Mandy P. and the woman who played the meter maid were our favorite characters--in addition to Millie's boss and secretary. We never got tired of the episodes--we did not find them repetitive or boring as some other commenters have stated.
The movie, on the other hand, was pretty lame. Mandy P was missing and his replacement was dismal. Had the movie kept the same characters/actors--it would have scored big.
We were very disappointed when we found that the series was cancelled before Season 3 was started. One of the few series that was worth the time to view.
Dead like me wonderful Oct 29, 2009 What a great show that just did not get a chance to really thrive. The movie was ok but it really was the first two seasons that made this quirky show the best.

Interesting idea but quickly runs out of arguments Oct 28, 2009 It is not easy to talk about death and if the show starts well with fun and clever humor, it quickly runs out of arguments. I like the dark style of the series (definitely not for younger kids/teens) but by the end of season 1 you have almost seen it all and it starts to be repetitive/boring. The punch line of the pilot with the toilet seat story does not hold for 2 seasons that's for sure.
The movie is just bad but the show might be worth watching if you can get it during a goldbox deal around $25.
