The best country album in years! Apr 18, 2009 I first heard this CD in the early 90's. I knew that James House was a musician with the Mavericks. When he came out with this album, I couldn't stop playing it. I had purchased it as a cassette. They were out of CD's. He is not only an incredible singer, but he's a terrific musician and song writer. Everyone will enjoy this CD. Even if you are not a country singer fan.
A rare and great album Oct 30, 2008 There are 10 tracks on this cd, and every one is good. I am a big fan of
country music and I can't imagine why James House did not become a big, big star. "This is me missing you" is about as good a country song as I
have ever heard. Unique rhythm, great lyrics, a little country twang in
House's voice. A really rare treasure. Wish I knew whatever happened to
this guy.
Days Gone By Aug 23, 2008 Love It, Love It, Love It! One of the Best Country Singer-Songwriters ever. Every song on this CD is great.
Great songs performed beautifully by James House Jul 07, 2008 This is a wonderful cd. Every song is enjoyable. Very catchy melodies, excellent lyrics and James House has a fabulous voice...talent to spare...
Looking forward to new music from him soon! I wish this cd would be reissued, and get some airplay...
anyone who hears it will become a fan.

Hard to find but worth it!!!!!! Oct 13, 2003 I 1st found James House's Hard Times For an Honest Man cassette in a clearance bin at a record store in the Hutch Mall. I fell in love with his music & his melodic voice. He is such a wonderful singer and it's a heck of a shame that today's country stations don't play his music. He has such a way with music that really knocks me out. I was fortunate enough to find the Days Gone By CD on ebay along with one other one of his. Unfortunately, so far, I can't replace the Hard Times for an Honest Man tape that my ex stole. I know James wrote hits for others (i.e. Diamond Rio's In a Week or Two which I dearly loved & would've loved to have heard James sing). Damn shame he's not on the radio like he should be.
