The only band that could make Winger look edgy Aug 29, 2009 One of the last "hair metal" bands to achieve mainstream success, MTV prettyboys Danger Danger took the Hollywood hair metal sound and systematically stripped it of anything remotely dangerous, leaving behind catchy pop hooks, saccharine sweet ballads, sixth-grader lyrics and plenty of hairspray. Honestly, they had as much in common with New Kids on the Block as they did with Motley Crue.
For some reason, Danger Danger is pretty highly regarded in AOR/melodic rock circles. I'm not entirely sure why. Aside from a couple of catchy singles, Danger Danger couldn't hold a candle to bands like Tyketto, Giant or Von Groove. Still, it's hard to deny some of the insanely melodic songs on the band's 1989 self-titled album. "Naughty Naughty" and "Bang Bang" were the big hits from the album, but I'll take the keyboard-laden, Night Ranger-sounding "Rock America" or the rockin' "Boys Will Be Boys" over those juvenile anthems any day. Slower songs like "Don't Walk Away" and "Feels Like Love" are also pretty good for what they are.
I suppose this qualifies as a guilty pleasure. I know why it's silly and why I shouldn't like it, but it's pretty hard to resist. I'll give it 3 stars for nostalgia and sheer fun. It's the metal equivalent of cotton candy, but hey, it's still better than the Bulletboys debut!
BANG BANG Jun 26, 2009 This is a very good cd. Two songs, Bang Bang and Rock America, are absolutely awesome. Other favorites are Feels Like Love, One Step From Paradise, and Turn It On. The lyrics and vocals are good throughout. They definitely know how to rock out, unlike some modern groups **COUGH COUGH Jonas Brothers COUGH COUGH**
Just like I remember it Apr 16, 2009 It's just what I expected in the shape they said it was. Very quick delivery also
Album of the century !!! Mar 20, 2008 Well.... What else to say about that timeless masterpiece that hasn't already been told ??!!! A real AOR jewel that has stood the test of time.... Any fan of melodic hard rock SHOULD own at least 2 copies of that classic album, one stuck in your CD player and 1 in a safe-deposit box !!! Fantastic tracks like "Feels like love", "Rock America" or "Under the gun" and beautiful ballads like " One step from paradise" or "Don't walk away" make that album the ultimate chemistry between classic AOR and melodic hard rock. One of the most impressive release in rock history !!!
For fans of JOURNEY, BOSTON, BON JOVI or FIREHOUSE....

Hair Band Delight Feb 07, 2007 Yes, Ok, so I was a late teen in most of the 80'and 23 when this came out. You either like Hair band music, or you hate it. You either loved it back in the day, or hated it. Some people dont like to admit they loved it back then, and are ashamed or embarresed by it today. Im not. I will tell you I love it, always will, and I will never be ashamed to admit that. Danger Danger is a great late 80's hairband. Every song on this album(excuse me CD) is filled with hooks galore. Bang Bang, Turn It on, Naughty Naughty, all of it. Get it......
