Love them!1 Nov 21, 2009 Brand New is one of my favorite bands. I was looking for this disc in stores with no luck. so glad a found it used on Amazon. Case was cracked, but the disc was in great shape. Thx!!
Big Sound Nov 12, 2009 Holy Cow! I really liked "The Devil and God are Raging inside me" but didn't expect them to be able to keep up with that album, let alone top it. This really is the greatest album in my collection. It is a very powerful album that is well produced. Buy it, or you're dumb!
Great Album! Nov 11, 2009 Brand New's Daisy is a great album. They have changed their sound again with heavier vocals from Jesse Lacey, and it took a little while to grow on me, just because I wasn't used to it. But, now that I have been listening to it for over a month, I can say that his vocals really work! I have come to like this album more than I like the Devil and God. I enjoy the music on this album way more, it sounds cooler. Highlights for me are: Bed, Vices, and Sink. My least favourite is You Stole which I only like at the moment, but everything else about the album I love.
Eh. Not what I'd expect. Nov 11, 2009 I love Brand New. Have grown up with them as they evolved from Jude Law days. Their last album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, is one of the greatest rock albums ever. Great combination of strong music talent and vocal maturity with smart lyrics to match. I can listen to it over and over and find something new each time. So I was psyched when this came out. I played it once and thought WTF is this. The weird vignette, the screaming. It just wasn't working for me. I understand bands grow and change. But this just was beyond what I'd expect in a natural progression. Undeterred, I listened again. At the Bottom, You Stole, Noro, and Daisy are flat-out 5-star songs. But the rest, well, after several tries I still haven't gotten it.
Not their finest, but fresh and unique! Nov 10, 2009 Upon hearing 'At The Bottom' when it leaked, I fell in love. This CD is definitely one to own, though if one is just starting to listen to Brand New, I'd recommend the CD's Deja Entendu or Devil and God first. Your Favorite Weapon I'd place slightly below Daisy.
This CD was interesting and really different (well, different yet familiar, old fans won't turn away) one for the band but Jesse and the crew are still as talented as ever and it still sends chills down my spine the way all their CD's do. A great thing is that as Brand New has progressed, they haven't sunk at all into the mainstream, the opening song Vices proves just how bizarre and brilliantly creative they are. All in a all a good buy for all those who are into more angst-ridden rock.
